So he's owed about $363M over the next 11 years, through his age 37 year? Seems about right; the length isn't too long (at least the Mets aren't paying for his age 40 season). While I thought he'd be a good pickup for the Jays, I think the acquisition cost was a bit high, knowing what Lindor would want, and obviously received, for his extension.
Good for him, hope he plays well for a really long time. From a Jays perspective, probably best not to lock into a contract like this when Bo and hopefully Vlad will get ones like that too. In context, the Springer contract looks good in comparison. Obviously totally different player, but a good fit for the team, both player wise and contractually.
