  1. Suarez at 3b? 2 years @ 60m? Adds more power to the lineup.
  2. Last 24 hrs feel like huge gut punch and makes me feel like the off season has been a let down, which obviously it hasn’t been. Still want the Jays to add a bat though.
  3. 4 years @ 240. Crazy!!!
  4. I’m always glad when the Jays use their financial muscle and sign top end free agents, but I still want one of Bo/Tucker. I hope this doesn’t lock them out of that market.
  5. I don't think we can expect another .950 OPS season out of him, but can he be an .800 OPS player? I hope so. If Vlad, Santander, and perhaps Barger play up to their standards/talent levels, we could see a drop in Springer's production be offset pretty easily.
  6. Vernon Wells got traded, I’m sure Berrios could get moved.
  7. After the playoffs he had, NEVER!!! That’s blasphemy. Bring back Bassitt!!!
  8. I want Diaz, and I don’t care about the “value” of the contract. We were 2 outs away from the World Series, and Diaz can take us there. Sign Diaz, Bo, Bassett, trade Berrios and be done with it.
  9. I really want Bassitt back; loved his performance in the playoffs and he would be a great back of the rotation started in the regular season. I hope they can make room for him.
  10. I wasn't huge on Cease as a target for the Jays, but even so I'm excited for the signing. Reminiscent of the early 90's when they signed top free agents; I remember when Molitor signed how huge that was for the team. Now to re-sign Bo and grab a reliever. I'd love to have Bassitt back as a depth starter, bullpen weapon too, but I wonder if bringing in Cease makes that possible.
  11. I wonder what, if any, market there is for Berrios. I'd love to add a Imai/Cease level SP, resign Bassitt, bring back Bo and sign a top flight reliever. If the FO could unload Berrios, even eating a few million over the next 3 years, they should be able to sign 3 high end FA. I'd love for them to go all Steve Cohn and sign Tucker, Bo, and 2 pitchers, but that's just dreaming! 😂
  12. There were so many weird things that happened to the Jays in the WS; the Bichette DP when he thought Varsho walked, Clement's game 6 hit that got stuck in the wall that would have tied the game, Hoffman giving up a HR in the bottom of the 9th of game 7, to Vladdy just missing a game tying HR by inches. So many little things that went against the Jays. I really believe they should have won the series, but hats off to the Dodgers (especially Yamamoto), they grinded their way to the championship. I really hope for a rematch next year! Also, the regular season is going to be a slog after the playoff run they just had. I'm both super interested and completely uninterested in what happens. I only care about the playoffs and desperately want the Jays to win it all this time; feels like they were robbed. But I also know this is baseball and the fairytale team we had last season might be gone for good; kind of sad, but I'm holding out hope that the awesome chemistry they had, coupled with a solid addition or two, will take them over the top next year.
  13. I don't get that Tatis talk, he'd require a haul and if you are going to get an outfielder, just sign Tucker (assuming he is interested in coming here). He only costs money plus a loss of a draft pick, whereas Tatis is going to deplete our depth. I think the Jays best play is just to resign Bo, grab a top end starter (Cease, Imai, or Suarez) and some BP depth (would love Diaz as our closer, but that may be too rich).
  14. Shocked and elated at this news! A great start to the offseason and hopefully more great news follows.
  15. Well they were also missing their prized free agent signing, for basically the whole year, and their #1 player had a subpar season, and went cold for much of September. The playoffs showed everyone what this team is capable of. Obviously next year players will perform differently (not expecting Springer to repeat his numbers), but the overall talent level of the team is that of a contender. Now, I'd love it if they brought in a couple of top end arms (a starter and reliever), but I wouldn't go about making drastic changes to the makeup of the team. The talent is real, the chemistry is real, and the pain of that loss should bring all of them extra motivation.
  16. No, don't reconfigure the team. I think this will become a formative moment that propels them to win it all next year. Knowing they were so close, and let it slip away, they will become more focused and intentional. They will come out of spring training on fire, lead the division wire-to-wire and bring it home. Book it!
  17. This was such a brutal game and it's hard to comprehend that they lost; so many opportunities to win the series those final 2 games, and they were the better team throughout the WS, however, the Dodgers made just enough plays at the right time to win it. Gotta give them the respect for that, however, it sure does feel like the Jays stole the loss from the jaws of victory, and that stings. I'm slowly getting optimistic for next year; with the right moves the Jays (assuming guys like Clement, Barger and Kirk play to their abilities) will be right back in the thick of things and could totally win it all. Feels like it's been a long time since that was a possibility. GO JAYS!!!!
  18. A gut wrenching loss as they had multiple opportunities to win the game, and a terrible final play! But the Jays have been the better team the whole series and this series has been an instant classic (Jays fan bias aside). They are a resilient team and I’m (cautiously…32 years of bad memories don’t go away overnight!) optimistic they will win game 7. As a long suffering Jays fan I need to remember win or lose tonight, these types of games are why we cheer for them and I’m thankful to be enjoying them. Go Jays!!!
  19. I would probably rank Steib’s no-hitter above it, but it’s certainly the greatest post season pitching performance from a Blue Jays player. Also, our starting pitching next year is looking decent. If can re-sign Bieber, we’d be looking at Gausman, Yesavage, Bieber, Lauer and Berrios. Sign a couple of depth pitchers and BP arms and things are looking really good. Hopefully Yimi comes back healthy next year.
  20. The Varsho triple wasn't luck, it was bad defence by Hernandez. The Jays don't make those kinds of bad plays, and that's why they are up in the series.
  21. I'm in the shower this morning going through my mind what bullpen options the Jays have tonight...Hoffman - check, Dominguez - check, Varland - probably, Fluharty, probably, Bassitt's out, Lauer's out...never done that before. This is what the World Series run has done to me, gotta love it!🤪🤣
  22. France at least drove a run in, but I didn’t like the call either. Where is Cito Gaston when you need him?! Just leave the regulars in.
  23. Jays got to Snell, Glashow and Ohtani. They can take this series.
  24. What a crazy, brutal game. My only hope is that the Dodgers' pitchers are more spent than the Jays, and we can steal a win today because of it.
  25. That’s amazing! The vibes from the fans gives me chills, it’s so good!
