  1. The Blue Jays are a big enough brand that you won't take money from them so they lose more money. Rogers won't sacrifice a $700 million property because of money they spent elsewhere.
  2. I agree but I also think TL has real swaying power to potential free agents. If he can lure a KD here he can leave and I don't think anyone would be mad. I don't want MU having to listen to the idiots of the MLSE board.
  3. Oh I highly doubt Rogers makes any money off that deal in the first 6 years. I think it was more to gain exclusivity and keep TSN away than anything.
  4. Sounds like he is going to be here for this coming season and then leave. I hope he stays as he is huge for the Raptors and protects management from the MLSE board. I could not give a s*** about the Leafs or TFC but as a Raptors fan it doesn't sound good.
  5. Well how much money did Rogers lose last year? Because I think The Blue Jays made more money this year with the increase in TV ratings and attendance should be pretty close by the time the season ends. I know the hockey deal was the reason OUA games are no longer going to be broadcasted this year.
  6. So apparently Tim Leiweke is leaving Toronto. Can't be good news for the Raptors.
  7. Chances are they make more money than last year though. The Blue Jays are a separate brand and if the TV ratings are up an average of 100k that is a lot of money since the Blue Jays are year to year with the TV contract since they own Sportsnet.
  8. It would need an innings eater. Dickey is old and not effective at times but at least you know he can eat innings and stay healthy. Such a young rotation like that is such a risk in terms of health. It could be like 2012 and then you lose 2/5 of your rotation.
  9. I really doubt Francisco comes back. I doubt the org would go into next year without a 2nd/3rd baseman again after the catastrophe this season.
  10. Santana had the QO attached and still got almost 15 million. He could be a good number 3/number 2 in the right ballpark in the NL.
  11. AA was on TSN radio and was talking about their prospects. Raves about Castro saying he was up to 102 and throws strikes with a plus change. Based on what I've heard I would think the internal propsect rankings of the Jays is 1Norris 2 Sanchez 3 Pompey 4Osuna 5Castro
  12. Yeah if it was truly an open market. Kuroda was going to the Yankees or retire so I don't think you can compare them equally.
  13. Sean Reid-Foley had a pretty good outing in relief today 3IP 3H 1BB 4 SO 3GO 1FO
  14. Yeah but those examples are of guys who got 4 year deals. My argument is that dickey would sign a 1 year deal and would get at least 15 million. If Jimenez or Garza had no QO last year and decided to sign a 1 year deal they would of received 15-20 million for one season easily.
  15. Well yeah because at his age a QO would kill his value. If he were on the open market right now, you think he gets less than a 1 year/15 Million$ deal?
  16. If Dickey was on the open market he would get at least 15 million$ a season and maybe close to 20 on a short team deal. Dickey is a good duy to have here as he is dependable for 200 innings plus if you believe in the Dickey effect adds more to your team. Hate to break it to you but Lester isn't coming here. They may have a chance at a guy like McCarty or Masterson.
  17. At least put a good jersey for sale if you make a thread. Who wants a old jersey with no name on the back?
  18. His DRS have also decreased though so I think you could say there is definitely a drop off. His baserunning is also way down.
  19. Trout put on some weight to increase his power but by doing so actually decreased his overall value since he lost speed. Doesn't really mean much though for him since he already signed his contract.
  20. It wasn't Francisco for Headley straight up, the report was false. Still I'm sure the price was maybe a lower level prospect and maybe another org guy in addition to Francisco or someone like that.
  21. Doubt the Yankees would want him. Buehrle pitches terrible in that park and I am sure Cashman recognizes that. Also Yankees are in the division so I can't really see that happening.
  22. Of that list I see the most likely teams to acquire him without having to add salary being the Angels Giants Dodgers
  23. So do you blame Hutchison when he went out and shutdown the Orioles in a must win in division games earlier this month? Every starter is going to have their good and bad days. Hutch is inconsistent but he shouldn't be blamed when he is a middle of the rotation type starter and has been exactly that.
  24. Probably all 3. AA oversees it and has final say but the scouting coordinator is making the picks and arranging a draft board.
  25. They are rookies, can you expect them to go out there and pitch like Cy Young every game? Hutch was considered as having the upside as a number 3 starter and is giving you exactly that of a 3/4 starter. Stroman's upside was of a number 2 starter and he has been that as well. You can't ask for much more than that..
