    Stroman is so much better than his numbers indicate. I can count so many times how the defence has let him down including Navarro who takes strikes out of the zone in key situations. If Navarro could frame the inside 2 seamer Stroman would have at least 5 more Ks this season.

    Dan Johnson hit a HR with 2 out in the 7th to give the Bisons a 6-5 victory while scoring 5 runs in the 7th. (Game was only 7 innings as a DH)

    The scouting reports out of high school had him as an average runner with great routes in the outfield FWIW.

    Well if he is playing CF now I would assume he has decent range. By his scouting reports coming out it sounded like he was pretty athletic. We won't really know until he moves up in the system.

    You could probably get equal value for Bautista and Edwin at the deadline compared to the offseason. But I think you need to pick one strategy or the other. Either you go all in with a 90+win team on paper or you trade all the assets you can move for good value. If AA is the GM I think he could be pretty good at getting good value back for his players as he seems good at collecting assets but fails in putting a roster from an 80 win team to a 90 win team.

    And I will say exactly what I said to someone else: A .275/.340/.415 LF with average to above average defence is still pretty valuable. Just because he doesn't hit 20 HR doesn't mean he can't be a MLB LF. A 3 WAR LF is very valuable no matter if he does it with an average to above avg bat and above average defence than a Melky Cabrera who hits really well and plays bad defence.

    AJ Jimenez is back in the lineup for Buffalo tonight. Hopefully we can see him in September.

    So if you were an athlete and your agent told you that you could make 55-60 million instead of 40 million you would refuse? Context isn't much different if you were offered 60k/year for a city job where you felt like you could make 85k/year.

    Buehrle is most likely going to be worth hi contract next season as long as he performs at this career rate.

    Do you think that is really sustainable though? I know that you know the team is a lot better than their August record indicates.

    I wouldn't. d'Arnaud has injury concerns and as a catcher thats where all his value is. Syndergaard is a good prospect but if I am trading Bautista I want at least 2 really good position prospects back. We have enough pitching and the position player depth is bare.

    I doubt it. The angels would be the most likely team but because of the Luxury Tax they wouldn't be able to afford Buehrle's salary next season.

    Why would you want a player to injure himself? Thats terrible

    There wasn't really a guy I would of taken over him that was justifiable given the upside. Oden vs Durant I think was completely different.

    As much as the team has been bad this last stretch its going to be really hard for them to finish with less than 78 wins. I could see EE getting shut down by the second week of September but even then there is too much talent for them not to win 79-81 games.
