  1. 1) Those moves actually helped them win the division and get to game 6 of the ALCS. People always talk about surplus value etc.. well those 2 moves helped make Rogers an extra $100-150 Million in revenue. That counts for a lot. 2) Tulo and Price are much much better players than Dickey 3) Syndergaard and d'Arnaud were much better prospects than anyone of the ones moved in these 2 deals with the exception of Norris.
  2. Shark probably gets 20 million/season. I'm not so sure he takes a 1 year deal. If he was he probably would just take a QO. I think he could get close to 4/80 much like the Porcello contract. I think GMs are past the just looking at ERA stage now a days. Iwakuma 2/40 maybe 3/55 Kazmir 4/70
  3. Was thinking of this the other day. If Travis were guaranteed to play 150 Games O/U on 3.5 WAR next year?
  4. Just because he had that walk rate doesn't mean he will come close to it in the future though.
  5. So was the 2 months Goins actually took walks though.
  6. Damn that sucks. Wonder if he is out for the season. I have tickets to see the Oilers vs Sens in early February so hopefully he would be back by then!
  7. Sure its a small sample size but a 2.5% BB rate and 30% K rate is not encouraging when a guy has supposedly turned into a better hitter. Those rates are really really bad lol. I'd say I watched 90% of the games in the 2nd half and I agree he looked much better. I also remember there being a few of those walks where pitchers for whatever reason just could not find the zone at all. Now obviously this happens to everyone but it seemed like an unusual number of times. Could just be confirmation bias but if I'm a betting man I don't think Goins comes close to replicating the walk rate. I think his approach changed but it didn't change enough that he walks more than 7%. In September he was still chasing pitches at the same rate as Kevin Pillar..
  8. His walk rate in the postseason was 2.5%, I don't see him being able to keep up a walk rate close to 9%. And if you look at the stats a little more closely to see if there was a change in approach.. 1st Half- BB Rate 5.7% Out of zone swing rate 30.7% 2nd Half- BB rate 12% Out of zone swing rate 29.7%
  9. Thats why I have a hard time seeing them trade Tulo right now. Shapiro has said the same thing in interviews that where they are on the win curve it would be very difficult to trade value off the 25 man roster.
  10. Oh for sure. Results have been fantastic. Just worried that if you continue to have bad possessions in the 4th like that you won't get good results.
  11. Thats going to be so difficult. Almost a schedule loss with a B2B against one of the best teams in the West.
  12. Nice to see what looks like a Win but they need better game management on offence down the stretch. Even though that Lowry shot went in it was a terrible possession.
  13. Derozan Iso coming out of the break...
  14. Raps offence late in the game needs to be better. Can't fall into the trap of wasting time and taking terrible shots. Take the best available shot regardless of the shot clock.
  15. Sure but they don't have the potential of Syndergaard or d'Arnaud? Also Tulo and Price are much better than Dickey. Making the ALCS because of the trades does count for a whole lot as well.
  16. Can't see that making the Jays better. You save maybe 10 million for having Desmond assuming he would even sign here. And then you would have to have a 2 Win upgrade in the rotation to justify moving Tulo.
  17. Nice backtracking..
  18. He's been visible alright. Taking terrible long 2s in ISOs.
  19. Who's playing SS for the Blue Jays?
  20. Wtf is this s***? The Tulo and Price trades will never be as bad as the dickey trade.
  21. Thats like saying Donaldson can be a 10 WAR player. Sure its possible, but very unlikely and you should not be predicting that value when looking at forecasting player performance.
  22. By the time 2019 rolls around we'll probably be at 12 Million/WAR. He really only has to be a 1.5-2 WAR player in those last years to be "worth" his contract. I would take the over on that.
  23. I see Ross still can't defend at all... That contract gonna be bad lol
  24. Derozan is trash. Ball movement just dies when he touches it then jacks up an impossible shot.
  25. I don't get how this is a reason. He's worth much more than 20 million this year. If you trade him you are going to have to replace his value which will probably be just as if not more expensive.
