  1. If you call at a busy time the ticket rep will be doing the same thing you are doing right now. Probably best to buy the tickets then explain to your ticket rep that you want to have a few of the games seats changed.
  2. Steve Simmons might be the worst journalist in all Canadian Media.
  3. I think Sanchez would have more trade value than Hendriks to more than a few teams. Former top 50 prospect and fantastic ERA as a releiver with great "stuff". I think you are forgetting about Estrada so that would be 5 with Hutch in it. If the Jays sign another SP and Hutch looks good in ST then it looks likely Chavez would be in the pen to start the season. Now he's probably a fantastic reliever but that is my biggest issue with the trade. Could of had a FA provide similar value and not lost Hendriks. Its very possible the trade works out for the Blue Jays which obviously I would want but I wouldn't of made the trade myself.
  4. Holy f*** anal much. Obviously take it within context. FA SP 10-15 Million + 4 years of Hendriks> Chavez and 8 million to spend was the entire point I was making.
  5. I can't see any chance AA would want a job outside of baseball. Especially for a team like Arizona. Why the hell would you even want to hire AA if you were the Coyotes? He has no experience with the NHL.
  6. You just linked an article with the following numbers. All around 10 million. Perhaps you should learn to read. Ian Kennedy 12 Million JA Happ 11 Million Bartolo Colon 10 Million Bud Norris 6 Million
  7. Nice post. Welcome to the board. I know what you are saying but at the same time I'd rather they of traded Sanchez to "force" Gibby to use Hendriks then keep the worse reliever because the manager trusts him more. I think Hendriks was a pretty safe bet considering the volatility of relievers because of his command throughout his career.
  8. 10-14 Million AAV on a multiyear deal. Would you rather have Happ at 3/40 + Hendriks or Chavez at 4.7?
  9. JA Happ, Ian Kennedy, Bartolo Colon, hell even Bud Norris. I just feel like you gave up a great reliever with 4 years of control for a low end SP that makes the team better but not that much better. Is the difference between Chavez and Drew hutchison for 1 year > the difference between Liam Hendriks and Bo Schultz +4 Million towards a better SP? Not in my mind.
  10. I don't think anyone really has a problem with Chavez. Its that the Jays had to give up Hendriks to get him. Chavez is good but there are 10 similar guys in FA. You just made the bullpen a lot worse to get better in the rotation for 1 year. At this stage in the offseason this doesn't seem like its a good deal to make.
  11. I'd say if Hendriks continues his performance level for the next 3-4 years in a setup role it will be frustrating. Obviously a lot of how people will view the trade will hinge on what Chavez does this year.
  12. He was great in high leverage as well, not his fault he didn't get much opportunity.
  13. Wow. Actually listened to it live and its worse than I thought. Not only did the guy say he heard Tulo would move to 1st base but then Jeff Blair said "I'm not sure Tulo has enough power to play 1st Base". 5 Min earlier Michael Grange said he wouldn't sign Donaldson to 6/130 either lmao. http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/prime-time-sports/ Around the 30 min mark of the 5PM hour.
  14. I don't agree with this. Look at the prices to acquire elite relievers around the game, they're in very high demand. Just because you struck gold with Hendriks doesn't mean they are easier to acquire. Thats like saying since we got lucky with JB and EE we should be able to develop 30 year old nobodys into elite sluggers. I'd say finding a Chavez type starter is easier than finding a Henriks type reliever. There is a ton of SP in FA too.
  15. This seems like more of a trade you make in February if you don't have a SP. There are still a ton of FA SP out there that I would of preferred overpaying for and keeping Hendriks. The Jays basically have Stroman + 4 back end rotation arms. You are still going to need to add an above average SP if you want to go anywhere in the playoffs as I don't think anyone is comfortable with 3 of Estrada, Chavez, Dickey Hutch making starts in the postseason. And that is why I hate giving up Hendriks because you just took away from a great bullpen. If you are going to go with a crap rotation at least have a shutdown bullpen (KC) to help closeouts games. As it stands now the Jays are going to need another great bullpen arm. I do understand the risk of relievers but like someone mentioned earlier Hendriks seems like a very low risk arm. Normally the most volatile guys are the ones that struggle with command. Hendriks has always had great control and swing and miss stuff. Even if he loses 1-2 MPH he should be very effective.
  16. So apparently on PTS today one of the idiots actually said a team source told them the plan was to have Goins start at SS in 2017 and shift Tulo to 1B. I don't believe it for a second but find it hilarious why someone would even think of this.
  17. Oakland has said already they see him as a late inning reliever. Even as that I like the trade for Oakland much more. My biggest problem is there are a lot of FA SP out there that are similar to Jesse Chavez and shouldn't be that expensive. And now you are going to have to replace Hendriks in the pen.. Maybe payroll really is going down.
  18. Lol did the guy blow Hendriks or what? I really don't like the trade either but its not going to affect my everyday life lol. Its not like they traded Donaldson or Stroman for a pile of rocks.
  19. Maybe the pay is better?
  20. LOL at that interview. I like Eric Smith but that was Barry Davis level awkwardness.
  21. I hope you know thats not what I meant. Chavez is pretty good no doubt. Still hate the trade though.
  22. Well I can see why James Johnson isn't getting any playing time. Disaster whenever he touches the ball.
  23. I hate this way of thinking. Thats like saying we'll trade Alford for 10 cents on the dollar because Pillar is blocking him anyway!
  24. I think you selling Hendriks short. He was an elite reliever last year. 2.88 ERA, 10.8 K/9 and 1.8BB/9 vs LHH isn't struggling either lol.
  25. Also comes down to the player. If he doesn't want to sign for less than 10 million and go to FA it won't matter what he is "worth".
