  1. My god, I really hope it doesn't come to the point where all the voters do is go to fangraphs and sort pitchers by xFIP to determine who should win the CY.
  2. it wont be, the Thursday will only be ALDS games. Friday there will be a 12:30 game as all 4 series will play.
  3. 12:30 would only happen on Friday and I think the only way that would be a possibility would be if Twins sneak in. Against LAA or Hous (west coast) teams they won't allow for that early of a start. Against NYY they won't put such a high demand game that early.
  4. I wonder who will win. I hope it's us.
  5. You're right, that opens things up.
  6. Overall demand will be slightly less for an afternoon game (will be 4 or 5, not 3. Think last year was at 5pm). Will likely shift some people to Friday's game. But not enough to put a big dent on ticket prices. People who want to go will find a way. Reality is that the high income earners likely have more flexibility and could rather easily attend an earlier game. For some it makes it easier to take clients out and expense it (similar to 2:20 games in Chicago on Fridays).
  7. How about a 30 minutes rain delay in Baltimore so that they know they yanks lost before the game is over
  8. That's actually a decent point, there are certainly people waiting to list their tickets until they actually have access to them.
  9. If it's the Yankees you'll get people travelling in from NY to watch, easy Porter flight from there. And obviously New Yorkers have the cash.
  10. http://www.tickpick.com is well liked by some people. Vivid Seats as well. For the most part Stubhub wins out simply because their selection is the best and their service in terms of buyer protection is solid.
  11. There's no rush to lower prices to make sure you sell them immediately IMO. There are 3,500 tickets left for game 1 and we're 10 days away from the game. For most of the September and late August games there was well over 3,500 tickets with that much time remaining, many with that supply with only a couple days to go. Obviously the demand for playoffs will be much higher. Many people haven't solidified their plans to attend yet as they want the date and time to be officially announced. People with tickets to sell aren't going to be forced to drop prices drastically the day of unless they are setting their prices sky high to start. Of course the flip side is that tickets are selling at a nice premium so it's hard to be upset if you sell them now, but you don't need to rush to make sure you're the lowest price available.
  12. You'll have a great time. Row 1 seats in the outfield are a different experience altogether from where you're used to sitting (and not in a bad way). Also from that section you'll be amazed at how well you can gauge pitches and whether they are balls or strikes. You'll also be able to see into the visitors bullpen to your left when you're sitting there, and hopefully you hear some good heckling of the visitors relievers and outfielders (you're guaranteed to hear heckling, whether it's actually good is the question!)
  13. Jeff Blair needs to be on this list. Easily the worst in my book. Sure, he has ridiculous baseball opinions at times that expose him as uninformed, but he is the absolute worst colour analyst there is. So friggin boring. The other day he was on air with Jamie Campbell pregame and checked his blackberry while he was talking. No idea how he got the job he has.
  14. WOW. That's nuts, that organization is in shambles. Pathetic.
  15. It is shared, but I believe they share revenues based on the wholesale price, not the retail price. So obviously merchants like sportchek or Lids make a profit on those sales and although I don't know 100%, I think it's fair to assume the Jays shop also gets to capture the profit from the markup.
  16. I took a stroll down to the Jays shop to buy some postseason gear and I've never seen lineups that long, that early for a giveaway. At 9:45 it was lined up all the way past the aquarium and out in front of the convention center. If you were planning on trying to get there early for the giveaway and haven't left yet, I probably wouldn't bother at this stage.
  17. Well then I'm an idiot because I just walked down to the jays shop to buy a hat and hoodie. As a lifelong fan damn straight I'm buying it. And I'll probably buy the alds champs, Alcs champs and world series champs gear too
  18. I should really learn to just use the ignore feature, but it's like that car accident you can't look away from even when you know you shouldn't be watching
  19. That's fair, and again that's a more intelligent way to say you'd rather have had Cecil stay in. I know you're not one of the ones making silly arguments. From my end I'm not concerned with how Osuna has pitched lately and think it's just an anomaly. I have faith in him still and I like having a stronger Cecil available tomorrow so I see nothing wrong with today's move (nor would have I thought leaving Cecil in would have been the "wrong" move)
  20. Thankfully I'm not the one looking stupid in this argument. I understand that some people in here are young or don't have a full understanding of the game(which is fine, you can be a fan regardless of how deeply you are involved in the game), but I don't think it's just a lack of knowledge that's causing these ridiculous arguments against Gibby. You can tell that people just look for any way to pile up on him. Heck, someone yesterday was complaining about using a banged up JD at DH and the other day someone was angry that Estrada wasn't pulled in the 1st inning.
  21. More value in saving your lefty specialist than Osuna when you've got other guys who can close if needed.
  22. Arguing that bringing in Osuna is "terrible" is ludicrous. If you had said something like "I would have preferred to see Cecil stay in" then that's fine (doesn't mean that would be the "right" move though). But to call it terrible or say it's not a good idea just shows you're looking for ways to bash Gibby. Absolutely nothing wrong with bringing in Osuna with a righty coming up especially when it helps preserve your one true lefty specialist for the next day. Once again people looking for anyway to blame a guy who has been doing a great job lately.
  23. Except it wasn't at all.
  24. It will start to sell. Once they clinch and people can make plans it will start to sell quickly. Not saying prices are sure to stay elevated, but tickets are going to be in high demand.
