  1. Evidently you're one of those people!
  2. Price had thrown 80 pitches after 6. His velocity was strong and he was piling up the Ks. There is absolutely no way he should have been taken out at that stage.
  3. People vastly underestimate the impact a manager has when it comes to clubhouse morale. Strategy is one thing (and important) but having a manager who gets the player's buyin has such an impact over the course of a season. Cito is criticized on lots of strategic fronts, but the players bought in and most loved him. Maddon is the same way (though with a strong strategic mindset as well)
  4. No, Thor sucks on the road.
  5. It *should* be Hutch on Saturday. Price would go Monday. So friday = Dickey, Sat = Hutch, Sunday = MB
  6. yes, you will be reimbursed for any games you pay for that don't get played.
  7. From what I understand, flex pack holders will get 2 seats per account.
  8. You have to commit to every series and every game. I did it online through my account manager. As a STH I get my seats that I've had all season and then got to purchase 2 additional seats.
  9. I just purchased my tickets. For those wondering, the payment plan is (assuming it's the same for flex pack holders as STH) Payment today = $500 Then payments on September 28th, October 12th and October 24th
  10. I like two things about this: 1) Joey Bats sticking up for a teammate 2) He has kept quiet about it and has protested quietly without making a spectacle of it
  11. Yes, that's how it is set up at this stage.
  12. FYI right now you'll need to put down a $500 deposit for your tickets. Not sure when the rest is charged to your card, but it's done in installments (of course you can pay all right away). But you could put down $500 and theoretically have secured sales through stubhub on certain games before the next payment became due. You won't get paid by stubhub until you upload the tickets, but you'll know you've got money coming back.
  13. Any tickets you don't want to personally use you can easily sell for more. However I can appreciate that it's a decent chunk of change to pay out at the start.
  14. If you're a season ticket holder or flex pack holder, yes you must buy the entire strip. Any unplayed games gets you a credit towards next years season tickets or a refund to your credit card.
  15. Season ticket holders can purchase theirs starting tomorrow.....for a week. Flex Packs should be right after that. I imagine that face value for the limited number of regular tickets through ticketmaster will be slightly higher. But yes there will be a small number of tickets available for non-ticket pack/seasons holders
  16. I've seen a few questions about how much tickets will be for the postseason, here's a breakdown: http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/postseason_seating_map_and_prices.jsp Interestingly the entire lower level of the 100 is the same price, and there are two pricing zones for the 500 level. Lower bowl world series tickets will be $420 a pop.
  17. Just insanity. Machado is a hot head. I just hope he doesn't go all Jose Offerman on someone, but I wouldn't put it past him.
  18. Tulo has put up 0.7 WAR in only 22 games, he's been great. And that's when his bat hasn't been it's usual self, it's gonna be a ton of fun when he gets locked in offensively. Amazing pickup.
  19. The point you've been trying to make is that the Jays aren't a great team. What other teams have done in the past is irrelevant. Not sure how you could look at the team in it's current state and say it's not great. Projections point to them as being great, just as going off gut instinct from watching them play would do the same.
  20. Oddly enough, Vegas hasn't quite set the odds that high.
  21. You know your team is in a pennant race when every single game on the schedule there's a way to label it as "must win".
  22. Richard Griffin hosting his "jays chat": "Quite frankly I don't understand WAR in general terms and I think that as you point out, you just have to see a player for a season and the contributions he makes, like Donaldson, to measure his value. I sometimes use the WAR numbers but I don't value them as highly as others." It's no mystery this guy isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but to blatantly admit you don't understand one of the most important analytic tools in the game when it's your job to cover the sport is sad. There are certainly limitations and flaws with WAR, but it certainly has tremendous value.
  23. He's 3rd in the team in offensive WAR and has just over half the PAs as most of the starters. He's been great at the plate.
  24. This is a great thread.
