  1. With all due respect I think I've outlined my thinking quite clearly on this. If we didn't win today, we were guaranteed to not play in Wednesday's elimination game.
  2. I think everyone should just take a step back and enjoy the fact that we're talking about a game friggin 5 in Toronto. So exciting. Let's hope the more talented team wins and we can continue this ride.
  3. It is what it is though, the whole point is I want my best guy in to make sure we play another day. Obviously I think he's a better option otherwise I wouldn't be supporting the decision in the same manner. How much better isn't something I care about as much as others, clearly I am putting more value on doing what can be done to ensure a victory in an elimination game than you are. My philosophy in terms of approach in a do or die game aligns with Gibby's thought process.
  4. Maybe to you, but not to Astro fans. s*** happens in baseball, I'd rather have the manager do what he can to avoid having it happen to the team I support.
  5. Compare it to us using Estrada over Stroman if that was an option. This place would lose it's s***
  6. This point has some merit, the only thing that potentially could be questioned IMO is the decision to have him throw 50 pitches
  7. You can't evaluate things using only "hard factors" all the time. And cliches like that are valid, because your season IS on the line.
  8. Astros had an even greater chance of winning earlier today (98.5%).
  9. Sure there's an argument. It has been discussed. Whether you agree with it or not is completely different.
  10. How is it a scam? The total cost is clearly presented to you before you complete the purchase and it's not difficult to calculate how much something in USD is in CAD.
  11. You're assuming that "just about anyone" has the ability to hold the lead which isn't how baseball works obviously. Gibby went with the odds and I don't see how anyone can hate on him for that in this situation.
  12. Even in a 6 run game you play the odds when you're season is on the line. I am a big Dickey fan, but Price is the better pitcher and I would rather have him protecting our season. In a situation where your season isn't on the line, the game is managed differently.
  13. My gut tells me we're going to bitch slap Hamels. Of course I have the gut of a massive Jays fan, but I think game 5 will be one where we get an easy win and beat up on the jackass that didn't want to pitch here.
  14. If Jays lost that game, there was a 100% chance their season was over. That game was near-perfect from a management perspective.
  15. No kidding, people keep asking the same question lol. Gibby's move made perfect sense as he has explained yet people won't stop asking away
  16. Hope everything's ok with Loup, all the best to him and his family
  17. Gibby's the man, gained so much respect for him today.
  18. Don't have to, just listen to them talk. Martin in no way was questioning the decision
  19. Fantastic managing by Gibby. Amazing how people who don't understand playoff baseball don't understand that.
  20. The sad thing is you know that Wilner's gonna get all sorts of calls from people who don't understand baseball - specifically playoff baseball - who will be complaining about Gibby's moves. Fantastic managing today.
  21. For a game we dominated, and a game where we forced a game 5 on the road after being down 2-0, it's amazing how much negativity and stupidity there has been in this thread.
