  1. No offense, but a lot of what you spew out on here is very "close minded" as you often only refer to fangraphs for your info when judging players. Its not that I disagree with your assessment of Miller, I actually think he is over-rated, but that article he listed does bring up some interesting points. The fact that he added 2 new pitches, and one of them (cutter) becoming top 3 among SP, can't be analyzed with a simple glance at his ERA/DIPS differential. NJH, he actually did improve, at least anyone who ever played baseball would agree is considered improvement. While the comparison to Arreita is a huge over-reach, at least the author has some tangible evidence as to why he came to that conclusion. To write off Miller using metrics from years prior when he was a 2 pitch pitcher, is like referencing Dickey's stats before he threw the knuckleball. That's pretty close minded IMO
  2. Happ could potentially turn right back into 1 win pitcher he was in the past, and at 12 per could look like a shiat signing. He has surpassed 170IP once in his career, it's not like he is super durable. Don't forget he is also creeping up in age (33). Chavez/Hutch both project to be around the same as Happ at a fraction of the cost, wasted money for more than likely zero upgrade. I really dont understand all the praise for a signing thats banking on half a season of success, it really isnt that great of a deal. Shark hovering around 3 wins is decent for 18 per with the potential for a bigger season. The 5 year term isnt as attractive, but he should at least put up 200+ IP for the first few seasons. For 6 million more per season?, I'd take Shark's potential over Happ's any time.
  3. They are great for work, I buy them exclusively as work pants. The flex feel is great while climbing around inside commissioning electrical components, so comfortable. Style is meh, but I dont give a f*** what style Im wearing while working.

  8. My favorite part of ted williams was that he flipped his entire family the bird by spending his remaining wealth to cryogenically freeze his body in the hopes that someday old age might cured, instead of letting them inherit it. Classic nice guy move.

  15. The Holliday deal wasnt bad, he was quite productive throughout it, until his injury filled past season. Mind you Holiday is still only 36 with this being the last year of that deal.
  16. Who at the beginning of the season was it that said Doubrant was on par with Estrada? Boxcar? Atothe? I cant remember, I laughed at the time though.....
  17. Seriously?, you must consider that this "steep decline" being refeted too isn't really that. It was the product of an arm injury, and by no means should that be applied to him going forward when predicting future defensive value. Bats is a below average defender with a plus plus arm. Without that arm he is terrible, but said arm looked pretty solid near the end of the season. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2015/09/22/151060852/jose-bautista-throws-out-two-yankees-with-incredible-plays
  18. Colin cowherd
  19. I bet it just comes down to billy beans just not liking Brett Lawrie and his amped up personality. He doesn't get a 3 year pass in Oak cause he's canadian.
