  1. Reyes is only going to get worse. I don't see how bringing everyone back accomplishes anything.
  2. I don't mind if Melky leaves, but Pillar better not be the starting LF if he does. I'd rather give Melky a contract similar to Robinson Cano's than ever see Pillar start another game. I'm only half kidding.
  3. Hypothetically if you trade Reyes for salary relief, you can overpay for one of the SS on the market. I'm sure 4/52 would be a competitive offer for JJ Hardy, for example, and if he won't come for then bump it up a bit. Every team has to overpay free agents. Getting rid of Reyes allows an overpayment. Of course I don't expect a team to take Reyes without giving a salary back.
  4. I'd bet the Dodgers would, but the Jays would likely have to take Ethier back. Since the Jays need a LF'er anyway, it would solve one problem while creating another, but I truly believe Reyes is going to be an albatross by next season.
  5. The Jays are crazy if they think new turf is going to help make Reyes a better fielder. If he doesn't want to switch positions, then trade him. He's not going to get better defensively, and his offense will likely dip as well. What a disaster.
  6. Yes he did a good job with Stroman, but they are letting Hutchison throw 180-190 innings his first full season back from Tommy John Surgery, which shows a complete lack of foresight. In fact, it shows a sign of carelessness. The lineups and depth in general are terrible. Alex has done nothing to keep his job. He probably will for one more season at least, but he's just as deserving of a firing as Gibby is. In fact, probably moreso, since everyone knew Gibbons was terrible six years ago (the first time got fired for pissing away a Rogers spending spree).
  7. I want Alex and Gibbons fired after this season. The lineups and managing has been atrocious. As if they don't give a s*** that they are within striking distance of a playoff spot for the first time in 20 years.
  8. Well, Yost's team is actually overachieving. Gibby's teams are always playing below expectations, and in a good year they are .500. He's terrible.
  9. Royals losing too. s***, I hate the Jays.
  10. If Reyes is unwilling to move, trade him. Might have to take back a s***** contract but at least they wouldn't be hamstrung by one player's stubbornness. Use Melky's money to sign JJ Hardy and trade Reyes for Ethier and Guerrero.
  11. Isn't Hutchison a Super Two?
  12. Yeah, right. Like Alex or Gibbons have the guts to tell Reyes he is going to be benched more often.
  13. Gibbons is a .500 manager with the team's best rosters in the last 15 years (2006-08, 2013-14). It's not a coincidence. Why they keep going to him is baffling to me.
  14. True, the Royals put a high premium on defense. Happ seems like the type of starter they would value, but whether they'd move Dyson for him, I'm not sure.
  15. The Jays should go after Jarrod Dyson from the Royals. He is nearly a 3 WAR player as a back-up. Good defense, good base running, and better offense than Gose. Maybe Happ for Dyson? Not sure how highly the Royals value him.
  16. Yeah, if you told me before the year that Boston would be dead last, Tampa would be below .500, and the Yankees would be mediocre, I would have assumed the Jays would have won the division as I didn't see Baltimore as a 95 win team. What a waste of a season. The East may never be this 'bad' again.
  17. I don't mind Detroit winning and taking out the Indians. I still see the Tigers winning that division. Beating the Indians and Royals will help the Jays. The harder team to choose who to root for is between Oakland and Seattle. We face Seattle four times, so logically, we should hope Oakland wins the 1st WC and leaves the 2nd WC open for Seattle/Toronto/KC/Cleveland. The only way the Jays can make up ground is if Seattle is the team to catch, since they can control their own destiny next week (assuming they don't s*** the bed in Baltimore and New York before then).
  18. I meant one of Seattle/Oakland has to run away with the 1st WC, since that would leave the 2nd WC open. Forgot about the Angels for some reason. And I'm not sure you know what drunk means.
  19. Detroit beating Cleveland is not a bad thing. The Tigers are probably going to win the Central. They are not our issue. Cleveland and the Royals will be.
  20. Yeah the Jays have to hope one team in each division (West and Central) run away with the division. That's their only chance, because they sure as hell are not going to go 13-2, or whatever they need to do in order to win 90 games. But if all they have to do is play 4 games better than one of Oakland/Seattle and two of Detroit/KC/Cleveland, then it's far more realistic.
  21. We should be rooting for an Orioles sweep, followed by them coming back down to earth by Monday.
  22. The NFL has domestic violence and murder from their players, but baseball has a much more serious problem. Where's congress when you need them?
  23. The Orioles should be penalized and the 2nd place team should become the AL East leader. Only fair.
  24. Goins was talked about as 2B much the same way during the end of last season and all off-season. That is my main concern. My hope is that Melky accepts the QO, that way he is only locked in for one season and gives the team an extra year to find a cheap replacement (come on Dwight Smith Jr......save us).
  25. Colby's 2013 was not sustainable. High BABIP and terrible walk rate/high K's. He is Vernon Wells without the big peak year. He might have another 4 WAR season in him, but it sure as hell won't be the norm. Let someone else sign him long term.
