  1. AA apparently not a fan of adding a rental player. Other than Hamels, there isn't an ace available with multiple years of control left. I'm not sure there is a team willing to trade a good controllable starter in this market.
  2. That's what puzzles me. If Goins is on the team, why the heck is he not a late inning defensive replacement? What's his purpose otherwise?
  3. After over 20 years, you should know by now that the Jays would be lucky if those games even meant anything.
  4. Jays are 7-5 against Baltimore, 7-6 against Boston, 4-2 against New York, and 3-7 against Tampa. Other than Tampa, they've held their ground against the others. Unfortunately, the Jays have played .500 against everyone else too.
  5. Yeah, Dickey would have to be DFA or traded if he's going to be replaced. I have no problem with that. The trade happened, can't change it now. Just accept it as one of the worst trades ever and move on. Norris, even with his control issues, is still better than Dickey right now. Make the change sooner than later.
  6. AA is not going to trade Edwin.
  7. How the f*** are the Jays only a game and a half back of the East, and suddenly 2nd place in the division? I haven't been scoreboard checking as much with the Jays losing a bit the past week and a half, but man, Baltimore and Tampa have sucked just as much. Suddenly the Red Sox might look like a threat to win the division, and Fangraph projections like them, too. Going to be an interesting race.
  8. Pompey should be the left fielder. Time to move on from Colabello. He doesn't provide enough value to keep around in a bench role. Have Pompey start in left and keep Carrera around as the fourth OF. Smoak and Valencia platoon at first.
  9. Prior to 2014, Doubront was pretty good. Not expecting a miracle with him but he's already better than Dickey by default.
  10. Need a few more runs. Can't afford to have a close game with MVP Reyes in the field.
  11. I think you can make an argument that trading Edwin now would be selling high, depending on how you think he will do in 2016 and beyond, but the return would have to be great to make it worthwhile.
  12. I'm saying all GM's make good moves and bad moves. That doesn't mean one good move makes a GM great. The Donaldson move was amazing, and he's done some other good things in his time here, but ultimately he's proven to not know how to effectively assemble a roster and when Rogers allegedly told him to make a splash 2-3 years ago, he proceeded to cripple the long-term direction of this team in a matter of months. He's not a good GM, and while I was ready to say he's learned from his mistakes in the off-season where he was valuing WAR (Donaldson, Martin, Saunders, etc), turns out he's the same dude when it came time to set the roster.
  13. Gord Ash was the worst GM I have ever seen in my life but he made some good moves as well. Alex isn't as bad as Ash, but his awful roster management, lack of acknowledgment that managing/coaching matters even a tiny bit, and direction murdering trades two years ago that took a team with a bright future and turned it into this shitshow is enough for me to point to the Donaldson trade as the exception and not the norm.
  14. Sanchez can get away with a lower K rate. He enduces so many grounders that a K/9 of 5 or 6 won't kill him. It's the walk rate that is the killer, and there is nothing to suggest he has improved on that during his career, except for his last couple of starts before getting hurt. I think AA did him a disservice by promoting him in 2014. They should have taken their time with him and see if refining his secondary stuff or adding another pitch could have helped him.
  15. Wow is someone actually debating the Donaldson deal? Sheesh. I hate AA but that trade was so good I would have been tempted to extend him on the spot (then I'd come to my senses after the euphoria subsided).
  16. Someone should write a homophobic slur in Reyes' eyeblack when he's not looking. Rogers might force a trade then.
  17. His home runs are up, strike outs are down, walks are up, and velocity will only start declining. The Dickster is toast. It's just a matter of how long AA is willing to stick with him. DFA him when Syndergaard is pitching like an ace will be a bruise to the ego, I'm sure.
  18. Escobar or Hechavarria would be better options than Reyes.
  19. Yep. Three years in a row the team has had big winning streaks that were followed up by massive regression. Fool me once and twice, but not three f***ing times. I don't want Alex touching this roster for the rest of the season. Let Duquette or whoever takes over fix this gong show.
  20. Trade Buehrle to a contender if we fall out of it. He's too good for this s*** show.
  21. He will let it happen again all season. The inmates run the asylum in Toronto, especially with Gibbons managing.
  22. And AA traded two short-stops to get this guy. What a clown.
  23. Is the Padres GM still drunk? He was all off-season. Maybe he'll trade for Reyes. Please?
  24. Fire AA. Seriously. He had a SS signed for $5m a season and he ends up trading for this douchebag with a billion dollars and an eternity left on his deal. f*** you, Reyes.
  25. It's a night game after a day game and since Martin is old, and traveling from Detroit to Chicago likely caused him tremendous discomfort, it makes sense to start Navarro. / Gibby Logic
