  1. Yost used Herrera and Davis in a blowout. What a loser. Oh wait, he used his long reliever and a mop up lefty. It was the other idiot who used his best relievers in a blowout. This thread is awesome.
  2. An infield single, a double that should have been an out, and one single up the middle. "Hendriks sucks". - John Gibbons.
  3. Yost >Gibbons. Both are batting one of their worst hitters lead-off, but at least one knows how to use a bullpen.
  4. Infield single. Take him out. He can't be trusted.
  5. Call off the search party. Hendriks is alive!
  6. The last two managers to rep the AL in the WOrld Series were Farrell and Yost. Maybe Gibbons being an idiot is actually a good thing?
  7. I hope someone puts Hendriks' face on a milk carton. He's missing. No one seems to care though.
  8. AA would probably cry if he had to pull the trigger on a Sanchez trade.
  9. Why does he love Sanchez so much? It's almost disturbing how much he ignores better relievers to give him the ball every damn game.
  10. Poor start but he gutted it out. Now Sanchez and Osuna to close it because they are the only ones in the pen apparently.
  11. Sanchez is like the 5th best reliever on the team (behind Osuna, Cecil, Lowe, Hendriks) and yet he's used like Herrera or Betances. What a joke.
  12. Go with Lowe in the 6th. Learn from your mistakes you hick.
  13. Take Stroman out after 5. He's not pitching well at all. But that means Gibbons would have to bring in Hendriks, which can't happen. Sanchez will be pitch 2 and then Osuna 2, most likely.
  14. Just got home to see Bautista misplay a ball in the outfield (daily routine). He'll probably blame Goins for that one.
  15. Must win tonight with Young and Volquez going the following two. Beat up on Cueto and the Jays have a chance to run the table in Toronto. Won't be easy regardless.
  16. You don't have to make the playoffs every year as there will be bumps in the road here and there but a team that can consistently make the playoffs has been done enough times to not be considered some sort of pipe dream. If the 2012 trades never happened, we would be the Mets right now except with a much better offense. Instead we are a team that has to win in 2015 because there's no guarantee they'll make it again after 2016 when two of its best players either leave or become way more expensive to keep. When you create a window, then you've already eliminated any chance of becoming a consistent winner. Unless AA has a few more Donaldson type of moves in him this winter.
  17. Hell, you can hear the crowd noise on a routine flyball in every stadium. This is nothing new. Goins should have known better. No excuse for that.
  18. Cueto will be the key. If the Jays can beat him, then they have Young and Volquez pitching at RC. They can potentially win all 3 if they beat Cueto, though the margin for error will be practically zero. Jays need to go back to KC with a 3-2 lead. Find a way to make it happen.
  19. If they don't win this year, they'll likely have many more chances over the next 5 years. That pitching staff is young and elite.
  20. Right on the money. Same s*** happened after 2012. If the Jays just stayed the course, they would have been a better version of the Mets right now with all their young pitching + still had the assets to make trades to add impact talent. Instead they went for short-term gain, and when that failed, they just doubled down for even shorter term gain. I hope it works out and leads to a title, but if it doesn't, trust me, 2 years from now the people saying it was worth won't be singing the same tune if it leads down a path of more mediocrity.
  21. Getting something like Gomez/Fiers was a lot more sensible than getting Price, IMO. Might have cost the same, or a little more, but the years of control would have been a lot more desirable.
  22. Yeah the Royals are a good team. You can knock Yost all you want with the lineups and so on, but the game is essentially over after the 6th due to their pen, and the lineup stuff has not had any negative impact on their ability to win games. They also have a great defense that pick up their starters. It's a good team that the manager can't f*** up. Similar to the Jays, except Gibby's weakness is the Royals strength (identifying good relievers), so that's where Toronto will get exposed (as they were in game 2). Put it this way, if Hendriks was on the Royals, he wouldn't be picking splinters out of his ass on the bench, he'd be pitching in meaningful spots.
