  1. This season has been too long so might as well make individual games last an eternity too.
  2. Trade Osuna and put Ramirez at closer. In that scenario, are the Jays really that much worse? Osuna putting up another 3 war is asking a lot, and relievers flame out just as quickly as they shine most of the time. Drop in velocity, already had a tjs, good fip...I say move him. Teams are smarter nowadays, they might look at the secondary numbers over the ERA/BS and still give up value. Sell high on somebody for once.
  3. Blow the game Osuna so you don't kill the rest of the pen with overwork. You know Ramirez will throw 2 innings again.
  4. That DL stint that ate some some service clock is probably the reason if that's the case. Either that or no playing time. Maybe both. Is it official that he's not coming up?
  5. Boston: racism and cheating. That should be on a t-shirt.
  6. Sure, but damn this season has been long and agonizing as it is. At least Urena and Teoscar don't have the 2017 stench on them, and are actually below 25 years old unlike practically anyone else on the team.
  7. Teoscar and Urena on the bench. Pass.
  8. Let's be real here, this regime won't be trading real prospects any time soon. They might not be untouchable, but realistically, they won't be traded. With the August/Sept JD has had, it makes sense to trade him this winter, but the definition of insanity has to come into play here with Rogers. I would like to see the Jays end up like Cardinals teams who could lose players to free agency and not miss a beat. Like they lost Pujols and still went to the playoffs four straight years after that. If the Jays could make the playoffs in 2018, then place Vlad Da God at 3B in '19 and keep winning (obviously rest of the roster has to be improved), then that would be all kinds of awesome. That's not realistic though. If they don't trade JD then they better have one hell of an off season.
  9. Goins is a vetrin now. It would be insulting to hand his spot to a rook even for a game, even though he's a better 2b than short stop, and Urena is a better short stop than 2b. /Gibby logic. I can't wait until 2017 is over. Too many god damn derpy moments and bad baseball all around.
  10. Man is it good to have young players to watch now in Hernandez, Urena, and Ramirez. This season has felt like it has lasted an eternity. At least the last month will have some new faces.
  11. Vlad is going to cause more boners in the GTA than Viagra. The hype is real folks.
  12. Age related decline.
  13. Urena and Hernandez sitting on the bench while Goins, Barney, and Saunders siphon all the available AB's would be such a 2017 thing to happen.
  14. That is a pretty good return for Verlander. The Jays were clearly not going to match that offer in terms of prospects, nevermind whether JV would have waived his ntc to come here, so it was clearly never going to happen. Wonder if the Jays could have gotten something like that from Houston for Happ at the deadline. Maybe not all those guys but at least Perez.
  15. Wasn't expecting Urena. Might as well play him everyday instead of Goins.
  16. JD wants to get paid, and Shapiro won't give a guy in his 30's a huge ass contract. He's leaving. I've already prepared for it.
  17. Morales hates the O's just as much as we do.
  18. Yeah he seems like a good trade candidate. Overpaid so shouldn't cost top prospects to acquire, and jays have the financial resources to absorb his entire contract to limit the prospects they would have to trade. Just take the whole salary and give them some s*** and maybe they'll take it over having to eat up a portion of the remaining salary. I'd do it. It's only two more years and the Jays have nothing in the minors that is beating down the door for a rotation spot.
  19. Vlad is going to be starting 3b in 2019. Book it.
  20. Just help the O's not make the playoffs. That's all I want. Lose to every other team for all I care, just beat the damn O's.
  21. Yeah, an extension for JD which starts at age 33 is just asking for a bad contract. Aging like Adrian Beltre is not the norm. Plus JD strikes me as someone who wants to test free agency and get dat cash, so he probably doesn't even want an extension right now. The only issue is what could the Jays get for him this winter? Alex Reyes and others from the Cards? I hate pitching prospects so I'd rather get young hitters. If the Jays can trade JD, Happ, and Osuna this winter, I'd consider it a success. It would suck for 2018, but could be massive for future years.
  22. His K rate has gone down since beginning his Buffalo tenure striking out a ton. I think it's at 28% now since the trade, which is still too high, but well down from the 40% it was like two weeks ago. He K'd 17 times in his first 40 plate appearances for Buffalo, and 13 in his last 65 plate appearances since. I'll give him a pass since he was starting with a new team and moving from the PCL to an actual normal environment. Long term he is probably a guy that will have trouble making consistent contact in the bigs but will have some power and hopefully value on defence and the bases.
  23. He doesn't really provide any value off the bench since he can only DH and maybe play some first. I don't expect the team to dump him. They signed him for three years for a reason. But dammit, dude is trash when he is not hitting. Provides nothing in the field or on the base paths, and is probably league average with the bat given his age.
  24. Teoscar finally hitting. Last 15 games: .295-.338-.721, 6 hr, 2/13 bb/k, 65 pa He's ready (...........to sit on the bench and watch Bautista's farewell tour).
