  1. Didn't Alonso get something like 2/16 as a free agent? He was another "came out of no where" first basemen who had a breakout year at age 30. I don't think we would have gotten much for Smoak tbh.
  2. Is it too early to fap to this farm system? Man, in a year or two, even with graduations for Vlad and Bo, we'll be in good shape.
  3. Conine 0-3 with a walk (1 k) today.
  4. Agreed. Gibby has been pretty good about pitch counts, but for some reason he deviated from that today and it almost cost them. Maybe trying to pump up the trade value. I'm going to miss Happ. Bring him back next year after robbing someone in a trade.
  5. Damn a complete game win would have look good for Happ. Tepera better not let these inherited runners score. Keep dat ERA low.
  6. Zeuch's profile screams "bottom of the rotation innings eater". I'd be fine with that outcome. Would like to see more K's though.
  7. He inherited a gold mine and doesnt have to work for Rogers anymore. If that doesn't motivate someone in this field, nothing will.
  8. Yes, please sell high on Tempura. 30 year old reliever doing well but not really established. Sell high and get a damn good return due to years of control.
  9. Groshans 1-4 with a 2b and 2 walks today (1 k).
  10. I could see Cashman moving Adams or Tate for Happ. Sheffield is probably out of reach. I think you'd be happy with the package above and then try to sign Happ as a free agent in the winter, but hopefully with more teams in the running for Happ the Jays can squeeze out a better offer somewhere.
  11. Yeah I'd rather get prospects who match up with the 2020 timeline. If they are big league ready now then so be it, but should be young enough to still be good during Vlad's years (2020-25).
  12. Wonder if the Jays working some Smoak-ian magic with Grichuk that will take a bit of time to play out. Even if they don't, if he's a ~100 wrc+ player with his D and base running, he'll be an asset.
  13. I think AA will trade for JD as well (assuming he’s healthy) and would love if that trade happened but that seems like a huge price for a rental even if AA is still in 2015 mode. I could see something like Toussiant plus, or something along those lines. The Braves have a deep enough system where the Jays could get a good deal from them even if it’s not one of their top prospects.
  14. Teams are valuing prospects more now. I think we will get a good package for Happ, but Frazier would be in the super great territory, and I don't think that's happening. With a worse/more desperate GM, maybe, but not Cashman. The team that will blow their load is probably Seattle, but they don't have enough intriguing pieces. The Braves are 1st place and have a deep system. Maybe the Jays can make a deal there. Though with our luck AA is probably super strict about keeping prospects now.
  15. I remember hearing that they wouldn't part with Torres or Andujar, but were willing to move Frazier. That was for Cole obviously, not for a 2 month rental. I think they will move Frazier eventually, but for Happ is a huge long shot.
  16. The Yankees don't really have needs aside from the rotation so not sure what the Jays can add as sweetener to get Frazier other than prospects, and i'm sure Shatkins would rather not subtract from the farm at the deadline. I want nothing to do with Seattle's farm system.
  17. Reading FG for the articles is like reading playboy for the articles. Fap to the stats. Ignore the other junk.
  18. Frazier would be awesome, but can't see Cashman moving him for a rental.
  19. The 2nd wild card being one game on the road against Sale or Severino seems really pointless. I guess anything can happen in one game but man that’s a long shot for the road team.
  20. No it’s because Cashman never loses a trade. Dombrowski treats prospects like cheap whores so there’s a chance you can fleece him depending on how desperate he is but Cashman never loses deals where prospects are involved. At least I don’t remember any off hand. I mean trade with the Yankees if they have he best offer but it’s kind of like trading with Danny Ainge in basketball. Chances are he’s getting the best player in the deal and not giving up much.
  21. SRF, Borucki, and Pannone (when he gets back). Finally starting to see some pitching prospects in AAA. I don't miss the Mat Latos, Roberto Hernandez, etc, AAA rotations.
  22. I actually don't mind trading within the division, but would rather deal with Dombrowski than Cashman.
  23. Man do we really want to trade with Brian Cashman though? As much as I like our front office, I don't recall a bad trade Cashman has made in years. If we got Frazier for Happ (which I don't think we will), I'd be more afraid of why Frazier was traded rather than excited about getting him. Go to the teams desperate to make the playoffs. Brewers, M's, Angels, etc. Droughts = desperation. We should know that better than anyone.
  24. Law never hedges. So if he dislikes a prospect, that prospect sucks and has no chance of being anything. Of course, being the self righteous douche that he is, he can't acknowledge that players can make adjustments, get stronger, etc, etc, etc. So his 'losses' look really bad, as they should. I'd rather appreciate Law's douchiness from afar, meaning I don't want to read his stuff. I honestly don't know why people value his opinion on prospects at all.
  25. Sano with a 40% k%. Damn. He's always stuck out a lot but he's gone off the deep end now.
