  1. I love how the Jays spent so much of their pool on one player but still somehow signed 27 in total. Shatkins front office is awesome.
  2. Bautista with a walk off grand slam for the Mets. Now has a 132 wRC+. Big time bounce back for him.
  3. Gray struggling combined with Yankees need in the rotation is a good thing. If Happ has a great start tomorrow, even better.
  4. He's walking more, but fewer line drives + more soft contact (hard% about the same as usual). Plus he doesn't look as good on D. He's probably better than his line currently is, but he's done as a starting C.
  5. Martin looks done. He's a catcher at age 35 so not all that surprising.
  6. Nice. If AA is the same old dude, then we might be able to fleece him for some prospects at the deadline. Maybe he hasn't learned from Friedman.
  7. Trying to help the Cats win the division? That's all I can think of. Harris is probably a s*** prospect anyway, but I would have kept him up in AAA as well. But they know the prospects better than I do.
  8. 2003: 86-76 (87 win pythag) 2004: 67-94 (71 win pythag) 2005: 80-82 (88 win pythag) - Halladay broke his leg and missed half the season that year 2006: 87-75 (86 win pythag) 2007: 83-79 (87 win pythag) 2008: 86-76 (93 win pythag) - had a better run differential than the Rays who won the division that year, and 4th best in MLB JP built some good teams that were stuck in a division with two powerhouses, one wild card, and unbalanced schedule. He wasn't great or anything, but he was a solid GM. If he knew how to draft at all, we'd remember him a lot more fondly for his work (his mouth is a different story, he and Keith Law were a match made in heaven, two douchebags working together).
  9. Wasn’t Delgado traded but he refused to waive his NTC?
  10. Wasn’t there a story that Godfrey was against going overslot? I don’t think JP had much of a choice, especially before the draft pools we see now.
  11. Maybe Cashman will move Frazier for Happ + something else, but even that seems unlikely. They don't have any holes aside from the rotation. Maybe Oh would interest them but enough to give up Frazier, probably not. Would love to be wrong though.
  12. Was hoping to see Morales pitch again. Won't happen in a close game but hopefully they still bring him in.
  13. Pardinho 2 innings and 5 K's so far.
  14. Trade Happ before he gets hurt. Between JD and now Estrada, I don't want to see any other assets withered away.
  15. Gardner is a FA after this season. Frazier can take over in the OF next year for them. I don't think they will part with him for a rental. For a big upgrade like DeGrom, sure, but not for Happ. Cashman never loses trades so we'll probably be disappointed if Happ is traded to the Yankees.
  16. I hate pitching prospects (hate them!) but I’d make that deal with the Brewers. I don’t think they will though. Adding Phillips gives us a reason to trade Pillar, which is an added bonus.
  17. Tepera will have value, but Solarte is the same dude he always was, and the Jays got him for nothing. Not sure it's even worth trading him for crap as he can at least cover some positions in the short term but hey if someone wants to overpay for him be my guest. Pillar, Smoak, and Tepera would be the guys I'd look to move, in addition to the expiring vets.
  18. "Get up ball, get up, get up" is the worst home run call ever.
  19. Wonder what the Jays could have gotten for Sanchez if they traded him after 2016 when he hired Boras. Now his value is no where near that.
  20. Cashman got Hicks for a back up catcher a couple of years ago. That's not fair.
  21. Sonny Gray who is struggling and only has a year of control left doesn't make sense for a team that needs to add as much talent as possible for 2020 and beyond. Even if Gray is a stud in 2019 it won't help the Jays beat out Boston or New York, and if you're trading him next trade deadline, then you're hoping he pitches well enough to have as much value as Happ does now. Might as well just trade Happ for the young pieces.
  22. Swoop in and get Gray, Shatkins. Find a way.
  23. Oh is going to be a big trade chip with that cheap team option for 2019.
  24. Atkins not afraid of the SJW’s.
