  1. I'm not saying the Jays should have traded Happ before this start, as I don't know what offers were out there. It's just general frustration that the team is not selling high on anyone important (over the years). Getting no value for JD will be bad. Happ was the one saving grace and he's struggling at the wrong time. The Jays really need to hit a home run in a trade with him. There's still time obviously but the Jays fan in me expecting the worst.
  2. Almost seems too appropriate for the Jays to have the hottest trade target on the market and hold him long enough for him to either struggle or get hurt (and there’s still time for the latter). Watching JD leave for a comp pick will be bad enough but if we don’t get great value for Happ, even by rental standards, what a f***in disappointment.
  3. So Happ for Tate and McKinney it is then.
  4. Damn you Happ. All we needed was one more good month.
  5. More potential impact players on the roster when Vlad is up is what the goal should be. No prospect is a lock but Frazier looks like he can be really good. I don’t expect the Yankees to trade him for anything the Jays will trade this month but doesn’t mean I can’t dream.
  6. Man, Clint Frazier would be such a good pick up. Six years of control right in line with the Vlady years. Cashman is bound to make a bad trade out of desperation someday, right?
  7. I love how the Jays spent so much of their pool on one player but still somehow signed 27 in total. Shatkins front office is awesome.
  8. Bautista with a walk off grand slam for the Mets. Now has a 132 wRC+. Big time bounce back for him.
  9. Gray struggling combined with Yankees need in the rotation is a good thing. If Happ has a great start tomorrow, even better.
  10. He's walking more, but fewer line drives + more soft contact (hard% about the same as usual). Plus he doesn't look as good on D. He's probably better than his line currently is, but he's done as a starting C.
  11. Martin looks done. He's a catcher at age 35 so not all that surprising.
  12. Nice. If AA is the same old dude, then we might be able to fleece him for some prospects at the deadline. Maybe he hasn't learned from Friedman.
  13. Trying to help the Cats win the division? That's all I can think of. Harris is probably a s*** prospect anyway, but I would have kept him up in AAA as well. But they know the prospects better than I do.
  14. 2003: 86-76 (87 win pythag) 2004: 67-94 (71 win pythag) 2005: 80-82 (88 win pythag) - Halladay broke his leg and missed half the season that year 2006: 87-75 (86 win pythag) 2007: 83-79 (87 win pythag) 2008: 86-76 (93 win pythag) - had a better run differential than the Rays who won the division that year, and 4th best in MLB JP built some good teams that were stuck in a division with two powerhouses, one wild card, and unbalanced schedule. He wasn't great or anything, but he was a solid GM. If he knew how to draft at all, we'd remember him a lot more fondly for his work (his mouth is a different story, he and Keith Law were a match made in heaven, two douchebags working together).
  15. Wasn’t Delgado traded but he refused to waive his NTC?
  16. Wasn’t there a story that Godfrey was against going overslot? I don’t think JP had much of a choice, especially before the draft pools we see now.
  17. Maybe Cashman will move Frazier for Happ + something else, but even that seems unlikely. They don't have any holes aside from the rotation. Maybe Oh would interest them but enough to give up Frazier, probably not. Would love to be wrong though.
  18. Was hoping to see Morales pitch again. Won't happen in a close game but hopefully they still bring him in.
  19. Pardinho 2 innings and 5 K's so far.
  20. Trade Happ before he gets hurt. Between JD and now Estrada, I don't want to see any other assets withered away.
  21. Gardner is a FA after this season. Frazier can take over in the OF next year for them. I don't think they will part with him for a rental. For a big upgrade like DeGrom, sure, but not for Happ. Cashman never loses trades so we'll probably be disappointed if Happ is traded to the Yankees.
  22. I hate pitching prospects (hate them!) but I’d make that deal with the Brewers. I don’t think they will though. Adding Phillips gives us a reason to trade Pillar, which is an added bonus.
  23. Tepera will have value, but Solarte is the same dude he always was, and the Jays got him for nothing. Not sure it's even worth trading him for crap as he can at least cover some positions in the short term but hey if someone wants to overpay for him be my guest. Pillar, Smoak, and Tepera would be the guys I'd look to move, in addition to the expiring vets.
  24. "Get up ball, get up, get up" is the worst home run call ever.
  25. Wonder what the Jays could have gotten for Sanchez if they traded him after 2016 when he hired Boras. Now his value is no where near that.
