  1. Oh should get a good package. Really good reliever with a cheap ass option for next year. Clippard should get a nice lotto ticket at least.
  2. Yeah not a fan of Vlad getting a Sept call up now that the team is way out of it. Putting him on a 40 man for no reason just for 50 at bats or whatever in Sept is stupid. Wait until May or June of next year (depending on whether you want the extra year or the extra year + avoid super 2).
  3. The only way to get a good deal out of Cashman is to get someone really far away from the bigs (not enough data to know what you have yet) and hope they pan out later. Someone like Medina, but even that is doubtful for a rental. Cashman has to be desperate and he has no reason to be for Happ.
  4. Yeah I’d be fine with anything that brings more value. Two months of Jd and Happ would certainly help a team looking to win a WS. The A’s did something similar with Hill and Reddick a couple of years ago. Don’t remember what they got back but I’m sure more than they would have by trading one.
  5. Really hope Happ doesn’t get destroyed by Boston this week.
  6. Yankees apparently after Machado (not to play SS). It would look awful to the mouth breathing public, but I wonder if the Jays could package Happ and Donaldson together to the Yankees. Enough for Frazier? Of course JD has to be alive by the deadline.
  7. Knowing SJW's, if he's found innocent, then it doesn't mean he's not a woman beater. It just means there wasn't enough evidence in this particular case. There is no way of being innocent in this case. Not in the court of public opinion.
  8. I’m curious what other teams are offering. Yankees no doubt willing to give up McKinney, but the other piece(s) would have to be worthwhile. That Cubs offer is ass. The Braves have a deep system and the Brewers have an outfield glut where the Jays could swoop in and get something undervalued. Really hope Happ does not s*** the bed against Boston.
  9. Final Boss is a beast this year. Better get a good return for him.
  10. I didn't see it, but maybe if he said "get up ball, get up, get up" with a bit more passion, it would have cleared the fence.
  11. Just saw that Happ's next start will be at Fenway. Awesome.
  12. I'm not saying the Jays should have traded Happ before this start, as I don't know what offers were out there. It's just general frustration that the team is not selling high on anyone important (over the years). Getting no value for JD will be bad. Happ was the one saving grace and he's struggling at the wrong time. The Jays really need to hit a home run in a trade with him. There's still time obviously but the Jays fan in me expecting the worst.
  13. Almost seems too appropriate for the Jays to have the hottest trade target on the market and hold him long enough for him to either struggle or get hurt (and there’s still time for the latter). Watching JD leave for a comp pick will be bad enough but if we don’t get great value for Happ, even by rental standards, what a f***in disappointment.
  14. So Happ for Tate and McKinney it is then.
  15. Damn you Happ. All we needed was one more good month.
  16. More potential impact players on the roster when Vlad is up is what the goal should be. No prospect is a lock but Frazier looks like he can be really good. I don’t expect the Yankees to trade him for anything the Jays will trade this month but doesn’t mean I can’t dream.
  17. Man, Clint Frazier would be such a good pick up. Six years of control right in line with the Vlady years. Cashman is bound to make a bad trade out of desperation someday, right?
  18. I love how the Jays spent so much of their pool on one player but still somehow signed 27 in total. Shatkins front office is awesome.
  19. Bautista with a walk off grand slam for the Mets. Now has a 132 wRC+. Big time bounce back for him.
  20. Gray struggling combined with Yankees need in the rotation is a good thing. If Happ has a great start tomorrow, even better.
  21. He's walking more, but fewer line drives + more soft contact (hard% about the same as usual). Plus he doesn't look as good on D. He's probably better than his line currently is, but he's done as a starting C.
  22. Martin looks done. He's a catcher at age 35 so not all that surprising.
  23. Nice. If AA is the same old dude, then we might be able to fleece him for some prospects at the deadline. Maybe he hasn't learned from Friedman.
  24. Trying to help the Cats win the division? That's all I can think of. Harris is probably a s*** prospect anyway, but I would have kept him up in AAA as well. But they know the prospects better than I do.
  25. 2003: 86-76 (87 win pythag) 2004: 67-94 (71 win pythag) 2005: 80-82 (88 win pythag) - Halladay broke his leg and missed half the season that year 2006: 87-75 (86 win pythag) 2007: 83-79 (87 win pythag) 2008: 86-76 (93 win pythag) - had a better run differential than the Rays who won the division that year, and 4th best in MLB JP built some good teams that were stuck in a division with two powerhouses, one wild card, and unbalanced schedule. He wasn't great or anything, but he was a solid GM. If he knew how to draft at all, we'd remember him a lot more fondly for his work (his mouth is a different story, he and Keith Law were a match made in heaven, two douchebags working together).
