  1. Man the Jays should have gotten in on that since they trade with the Cards so often.
  2. Well deserved. Trollosi has been doing this for years.
  3. The Mirage might have to DH permanently.
  4. Estrada's September ERA will be like 1.74 with the Jays. But any time the dude is in trade rumors, he shits the bed. At least it seems that way.
  5. Yes this was selling low, and less than he's worth as a player, but if the Jays were forced to move him (i.e. Rogers being Rogers) then this was far more that I was expecting, and probably others as well. The situation was not ideal. Jays were in position of weakness. To get a reliever who could conceivably be as good or better than Osuna this and next year, without the DV baggage (douchebags are easier to move than guys accused of DV), plus two lotto ticket prospects who had depth to the system is pretty solid. If the Jays can revive Giles a bit then this winter or next July he could be traded for prospects as well. Either way, if ROgers didn't want Osuna on the team anymore, then this had to happen. Best of a bad situation.
  6. Ffs just trade Solarte for a bag of balls.
  7. Flip Giles and Grandy to the Yankees. Get more lottery tickets.
  8. Yup. Trade him next July when he’s killing it next year. Will still have 1.5 years of control by then so not a rental.
  9. Shatkins did really well here. Osuna without the legal s*** may have gotten more but this was very good regardless. Giles could be better than Osuna next year + prospects.
  10. Sheryl Ring about to go ballistic at Houston. Good return all things considered.
  11. Flip Giles for prospects next deadline. Prospects hopefully are solid. Not expecting top prospects.
  12. DO it Shatkins. I don't trust Tepera at all even though his numbers aren't bad.
  13. Even that might be selling low, but at least there should be more clarity about his situation in a few months. Anyone who thinks teams are lining up to trade top prospects for him now is fooling themselves.
  14. Osuna racking up saves in 2019 would mean that his legal problems are behind him and he's gotten his s*** together. That's instantly going to make him more desirable asset. I'm not saying teams won't trade a lot for him now because he hasn't been racking up saves since his suspension. It's the fact that he's suspended (along with the other stuff I mentioned) that will drag his value down. This isn't a baseball trade until his legal problems are gone.
  15. It has nothing to do with "stupid GM's". It's reality. The dude is in the middle of a suspension, a possible trial for a hot button issue in the world today, a possible issue with crossing the border, , etc, etc. The Jays are also owned by a publicly traded company that couldn't give two shits about baseball moves if it potentially hurts their brand. You really think the Jays will be in a position of strength here because of years of control? A year from now, if Osuna's legal issues are taken care of and he's back to pitching like normal, then sure, you lose a year of control but the cloud over him is gone, and he'll still have 2.5 years of control (the Jays gain a year due to this suspension, right?). Again, I hope i'm wrong if the Jays trade him before tomorrow, but this isn't a video game.
  16. Hope you're right but I have a bad feeling about this, and I say that as someone who likes/trusts Shatkins.
  17. I don’t remember all the details but I don’t recall there was any danger of Chapman missing the 2016 post season. Plus I believe there was talk that if he was suspended for X amount of days the team that had him would gain a year of control, so there was no downside to trading for him. And he was still traded for garbage. Now, clearly Shatkins is better than the Reds org, so I have more faith in them to do the right thing but I don’t have any trust in Rogers. If they are forcing a trade and teams are lowballing, then it becomes a s***** situation. I hope I’m wrong. But yes, I’d look at Houston and Atlanta for this one. We know AA likes Osuna and is open to moving Gohara. Maybe there’s a fit there.
  18. Dude, look what the Yankees gave up for Chapman and what they got for him months later when he was back on the field. A bunch of s*** versus one of the best prospects in the game. You think teams are going to pay top dollar for a guy DURING a suspension? If anything, it will be lowball city. If a teams gives up pre-suspension level value for him, then it's a no brainer. Move him.
  19. Osuna should definitely be traded but only when he recoups some of his value. A year from now, when the DV stuff is in the rear view and he's racking up saves again, his value should increase. Selling now (unless a team is willing to give up the same value they would have if he wasn't in legal issues) is selling low and the Jays can't afford to lose value after what happened with JD. Rogers is going to cater to the SJW hive. Publicly traded company that doesn’t care about baseball moves over optics. Bad combo. Hopefully Shatkins can either get a good deal or convince them to hold on to him until value increases.
  20. The SJW's are going to win this one.
  21. I hate baseball.
  22. Yeah when Pompey is taken out of a game, a trade is the last reason I'd think of, unfortunately.
  23. One thing I noticed about McKinney's milb numbers is that he hits a lot of line drives and fly balls. That seems like a good thing, but outside of that I have no idea what his upside is.
  24. Trade deadline update: Wall: 3-4, 2B, BB, K Espinal: 2-4, 2B Spanberger: 2-4, K McKinney: 1-4, 2B, K
  25. Clippard saw a lead and was salivating at the thought of blowing it.
