  1. Ken Giles to close it out?
  2. Gibbons not going to let some AAAA goober ruin a perfectly good tank job. Gibby 2.0 doing what’s best for the org. Edit: Biagini only gives up the one run. Fail.
  3. Even numbered year Steve Pearce is a real thing. 2014, 2016, and 2018. Don't sign him next year.
  4. Pompey will be a Brave by next season.
  5. Bichette: 3-4, 2 2B Biggio: 3-5, 2 HR, 2B Wall: 3-4, 2B, BB, K Espinal: 2-4, BB (hitting .310 in AA so far)
  6. I'm not sure what his upside is, but I'm interested to see what he can do in the bigs. He's shown the ability to draw walks (~10% in the minors) and practically everything he hits is a LD or FB. He doesn't have any split issues as a lefty bat either (hits lefties pretty well). I'm not going to go all Justin Upton on him, but he doesn't look like a bad player. If the Jays can trade Pillar this winter then I'd be fine with giving McKinney a shot in one of the corners. Not like the team is competing. See what he has.
  7. Transition year. One year deals for vets hoping to flip them and play or acquire flawed players with upside for reasonable cost to see if they can turn it around (Grichuk, Drury, Diaz types). I think 2020 is when we will see a lot of young players on the mlb team at once.
  8. Good lord Santos in. This game will end in 4 hours.
  9. Call me crazy but I think having Tulo around to mentor Bo will be a good thing. I mean no one is going to trade for him so might as well use his vetrin presents to our advantage.
  10. I don't know what the payroll situation will be like next year but I think the team would rather not pay JD ~$20m even on a one year deal. I think they trade him in August or hope he declines the QO. I wouldn't have an issue with JD on a one year deal but I think payroll is going to slide substantially, and the Jays may want to see what they have with Drury, Gurriel, and eventually Vlad.
  11. Yeah no way he’s retiring with the amount of money he has left on his contract. But who knows.
  12. So the official tally (for now) is: Espinal Wall Spanberger PTBNL Drury McKinney Giles Paulino Perez Waguespack Copping
  13. Read the post man. I just said it’s not surprising considering who we gave up. It’s a boring ass day.
  14. I like Grandy but would much rather see AB’s going to McKinney/Smith/Pompey types over last two months. Crazy that he wasn’t moved. No doubt he will be moved in August but surprised it didn’t happen today.
  15. Grandy is still productive and a known clubhouse guy. I'd be shocked if no one traded for him even if it's for a C level nothing prospect.
  16. Last two trades have been disappointing after the big first 3 (Oh, Happ, Osuna), but considering who we traded that's not a shock. Surprised we got anything for Axford.
  17. Axford to the Dodgers.
  18. Archer lost so much money signing that extension.
  19. Biagini part 2?
  20. Seriously, the only times I remember Loup is still on the team is when he's brought into a game. I'm not expecting much.
  21. Maybin to Seattle. Grandy to the Yankees is probably a formality now. History with the team/GM plus a great clubhouse guy and still productive.
  22. Loup has a 3.61 fip and 10.6 k/9. I barely remember he's on the team some times but those numbers aren't too bad. Maybe he could fetch a lotto ticket after all.
  23. Definitely moving Granderson. The relief market is so cluttered I really don't know if teams would value Clippard/Axford/Loup more than anyone else on the market. If they are moved it won't be for much. I'd say outside shot Solarte gets moved, but I'm not expecting any surprises.
  24. Yeah seriously, unless Passan has some evidence or even credible hearsay to make those claims, that's pretty low on his part.
