Respect to Gibby for being able to change after Shatkins took over, but I don't see the big deal. Most managers are now analytical extensions of the front office. Gibbons will be missed based on his relationship with the players, but as far as actual decision making, managers are basically puppets now. As long as they don't hire a Dusty Baker/Buck Showalter type, we won't even notice the difference aside from no longer having entertaining inteviews before/after games.
