    SRF, Pannone, Paulino, Thornton, and Waguespack are all on the 40 man roster and have options remaining. Merryweather too whenever he gets healthy. The Jays need someone who can eat up innings (preferably Yusei but most likely someone like Gio) but otherwise I'd expect a s*** ton of innings from the minor leaguers on the 40 man roster. Even if Stro and Sanchez start the season with the Jays, they probably don't finish with them. There is going to be a lot of turnover in the rotation throughout the season.

    I wonder who the Jays end up trading Martin to. I would assume he’s the guy they move for his sake but the list of suitors is dropping.

    Stroman, Sanchez, Borucki, and Shoemaker is not a rotation I'd expect to be 100% healthy all season. The AAA guys (SRF, Pannone, Paulino, Thornton, Waguespack, Merryweather when he's healthy, etc) will get plenty of opportunities next season.

    They'll be pissed about every move Shatkins makes.

    Gio makes the most sense since he can eat up innings and the Jays really need that. The AAA rotation is going to be cluttered though.

    Nicely done Shatkins. This is the type of low risk gamble that can really pay off.

    He might be a guinea pig for the player development staff this year. Shapiro wants to create this big org culture where players are given the best nutrition, mental health, leadership training, etc, etc. This would be a big test for that as he's surely going to suck in the bigs but they'll work on his repertoire at the big league level while helping him with all the other stuff on the side. That's my guess at least. I think he stays all year. Shatkins is ready to punt 2019 so the roster spot probably won't mean much to them. Although that theory will be tested once the pen is tired and they need fresh arms. Having someone there that they can't option or use in high leverage situations is going to hurt them.

    Who is left on the pitching market? Keuchel and Kikuchi is all I can think of. Maybe once those two are settled the market for Stroman will become clearer. Morosi is a f***ing hack but Shatkins definitely seems to want to trade Stroman (at least there's a lot of smoke now) so I think it's a real possibility.

    People need to stop citing Morosi as a source. He’s just so bad.

    Yeah, a sabermetric AA sounds like a damn good GM. Of course he gets good after he leaves.

    Heyman is a hack too but he’s more credible than Morosi. That says more about Morosi than Heyman, but still. Morosi is one of the worst out there.

    It's understandable to get hooked on this rumor since the off season has been so boring, but yeah, Morosi is s***.

    Right now yes, but xposbrad wants to hold on to Stroman and trade him during the season, which is what I was responding to. Someone mentioned before and I agree completely with it; true contenders don’t view Stroman as a difference maker. It’s the teams like the Padres and Reds (bad teams looking to improve) that will offer more. These teams won’t be buyers in July. Now might be the time.

    If you think we are going to get a better package than Allen/Baez in today's marketplace for a year and two months of Stroman, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

    I call him Trollosi for a reason. He's a hack. When Rosenthal says something, then we're getting somewhere.

    Graveman to the Cubs and Fiers close to re-signing with A’s. Jays are either going to shock us with Yusei or have a straight up young rotation plus whatever reclamation projects they can find. The latter seems more likely.

    Domingo Santana to the M’s. I thought Atkins would be all that but Dipoto hadn't made a trade in over 24 hours so it was bound to happen.

    Trading two prospects for added 2019 wins doesn’t seem all that smart to me unless you think the reds can seriously contend.

    Never doubt the Rays. They'll look like the winners of this deal a year from now.

    Pomeranz actually seems like a realistic sign. Was terrible last year so would take a one year deal, had success in the East, and for all the mouth breathers on social media he was drafted by Cleveland when Shapiro was GM (I think) so we’d get the added benefit of casuals hating it for that reason alone. Have to be sure that his velocity can get back to normal though, or he’s likely s*** going forward.
