  1. Tucker's BB and K rates are not that bad, and he has a really low BABIP. Alford has a 41% K % (.313 BABIP). It's a SSS so he could definitely turn it around, but not the same as Tucker. Alford's K rates have spiked huge in AAA compared to AA.
  2. Yeah I'm still believing in Alford, but his start in AAA this year (the K's in particular) is not good. He'd be eaten alive in the bigs. Hopefully it's just a bad start.
  3. I thought Morales was $1m and DSJ was $500k?
  4. I like Shatkins, but never, ever trade with Brian Cashman again.
  5. Charlie Buntoyo. Don't even care if he called that bunt or not, it's part of his DNA.
  6. Sadly he's probably better than every OF currently in the Jays org other than Grichuk. That says more about how bad the Jays are in the outfield than how good DSJ is, but still.
  7. Why are they so stuck on him being an infielder when the OF situation in the Majors and minors is s***? At this point try him at CF or LF and see what happens. He’s clearly not an infielder.
  8. Yeah that s*** is in his head. Might need to get him off 2B.
  9. Yes but who other than Vlad should be up right now? Vlad will be up soon, he was hurt and they wanted to manipulate service time so it's only a matter of time. I think Biggio and Alford should be up in a few months. Bo isn't hitting yet. Jansen's up. Not sure what to make of Tellez or Gurriel, but Shatkins seems to like both and they are up. We are getting closer to seeing real prospects up and down the lineup rather than the shot in the dark types. The first few months of this year will be trash because it's basically praying one of Teoscar, McKinney, Drury, Brito, etc, actually turn into something useful, and all of them suck right now (Teoscar showing improvement with plate discipline though).
  10. If the Jays can hit a little bit, then these losses (and there will be a lot of them) will at least be entertaining. Put up a good fight against a vastly superior team in a game they had no business being in. Rebuilding sucks, but these are the lumps you take.
  11. Javy Guerra pitching like Javy Guerra again. It was a good two weeks.
  12. That was a borderline pitch on 3-1. Should have been called a ball, but caught a tiny bit of the plate. Surprised Maile didn't swing on the 3-2 pitch though.
  13. Cash challenges up 8 against a rule 5 pick, but Montoyo doesn't down 2 with a runner on 2nd and 2 out. That job interview by Montoyo must have been amazing.
  14. Why do we have such stupid base runners?????
  15. Well, at least NY is consistently bad.
  16. He looked safe and the Jays are on defence so it will be overturned.
  17. We faced a bunch of s***** teams in the first two weeks, but let's bring Elvis in tonight against a great offence.
  18. Groshans and Kirk with HR's tonight.
  19. Urena is dumb, but that would not have been overturned if the Jays were on defence.
  20. Poor Elvis won’t be able to get an out tonight if he’s brought in.
  21. Figures the Rays would win the Archer trade. They can turn water into wine.
  22. The new Moneyball: sign talented kids from dirt poor families and throw millions at them early in their careers before they realize they are accepting a 3rd of what they could make in the future.
  23. Mike Trout might be the greatest to ever play baseball but probably wouldn't get recognized by more than 25% of the population in the United States. Baseball is falling in popularity but that's still really sad.
  24. Wow. This kid was totally taken advantage of. I don't even blame AA, he just gave him a silly offer that he was stupid enough to accept. The agent deserves to get fired for this.
  25. I agree but teams pretty much have taken a giant dump on 1-2 win players in free agency. They are really cheap to acquire nowadays, and I’m talking about the established 1-2 win types. The Jays could easily supplement the roster with those types of players when the time comes, unless the market changes. The problem with the Jays is they don’t have any really good players yet, and that’s where we need Vlad/Bo/Jansen/Alford/Biggio/Tellez to come in and turn into players. Grichuk needs to take a leap forward too since he’s now going to be counted on as a core piece. I’d be more concerned if those players look s***** than the Hernandez/McKinney/Drury/Brito’s on the team. But yeah the fringey players we hope turn into something are not playing well and that’s a big reason why this season has not been fun so far. Only a few more months until the roster turnover begins, hopefully.
