  1. Chatwood and Romano faced the toughest part of the lineup if I recall. Dolis was facing the bottom of the lineup. So I guess that was the logic. Unfortunately with all the injuries I don’t know who else they could have used. They need to call up Edwards and hope he rebounds. There’s a lot of unusable s*** in the pen.
  2. Dolis could have blown this 15 minutes ago and I could have went to sleep. Instead he takes a damn eternity to blow it.
  3. This inning started 10 minutes ago and Dolis has only thrown 13 pitches. A pitch clock would force him into retirement.
  4. Ross Stripling is going to throw a no hitter this season. I'm calling it now.
  5. I thought Thornton would be much better as a RP than he has been so far.
  6. Wouldn’t surprise me if TLR and the team “mutually part ways” soon. He clearly doesn’t give a s*** and the court of public opinion is clearly on the players’ side. If the players publicly start complaining, a move might have to be done. TLR also called out Lance Lynn.
  7. Yeah, if he stays healthy and continues at the rate he's going, Ohtani is definitely winning MVP. Only thing that might hurt him is the Angels are ass, but Trout won a bunch of them so probably not.
  8. Bringing in Chatwood in a 6 run game would be insanity given the injuries to the pen.
  9. Yup. The moment Panik comes back, he's playing regularly. Even when it doesn't make sense to see him in the lineup, he'll be there.
  10. That is a bit more excusable to me than what happened with Tatis/Woodward/Tingler last season. TLR is 76 and clearly out of touch. The hire was cronyism at its finest and everyone knew it. This type of thing was pretty much expected. Feel bad for the White Sox players to have to deal with that, but unfortunately for them they had no say. Unlike with Tatis where it was clearly an issue that had to be addressed (Tatis was railroaded by his own manager), I think people will just chalk this up as "old man yells at cloud".
  11. I wish Ohtani chose the Dodgers if he wanted to go to LA. The Angels have him and Trout and will still finish way out of the playoff race. They couldn't even make it last year when 16/30 made it.
  12. With Vlad looking like a natural fit at 1B, I don't think Tellez has much longer in the org. If he was hitting up a storm at DH, then maybe, but having DH open to rotate/rest players seems like a much better use of the spot for the Jays, especially once Springer gets back. Since the Brewers collect Jays players, my guess is he ends up a Brewer at some point.
  13. You know the pen is exhausted when Buntoyo lets Ray throw 112 pitches.
  14. Red Sox take the lead. Angels have the greatest player of this generation (/ever) and the modern day Babe Ruth and will still miss the playoffs.
  15. Yeah, I'm fine with Sahlen Field for a season, but Dunedin just isn't working for me. I think it's the cardboard cut outs and lack of crowd, but either way, I'll be happy when they leave Florida.
  16. If you asked me to pick one today I'd go with Manoah, but that's only because of Pearson's injury history. Manoah just looks like he will be a guy who will be a workhorse, but obviously pitchers are fragile regardless.
  17. Would have liked Stripling to get one more inning considering how good he looked, but good start regardless.
  18. I'm curious to see what the umpire grade for the HP ump will be after this game. I'm following on Gameday, and it seems like a lot of calls are wrong. More than the usual incompetence by HP umps.
  19. Don't even bother testing out robo umps in the minors. Just implement the technology today and work out the kinks as the season progresses. Seriously can't be worse than what we are seeing nowdays.
  20. I'm just as excited about Moreno as I am Martin and Groshans. For an athletic catcher, what he's doing with the bat at his age and level is really intriguing.
  21. I like all of those, and would be fine with limiting pick off attempts to increase SB's (which is apparently something they are testing) as well. The game needs more stolen bases, doubles, triples, and less time in between pitches. I think you accomplish a lot of those things with the rules changes they are testing. I really hope some, if not all, of those changes are added soon.
