  1. Good god the Marlins are terrible--7-0 Yankees as Gregorius hits a jack..
  2. And another Ranger bites the dust--Profar just got injured trying to get a double play--in a game the Rays already lost Matt Duffy to injury as well.
  3. Nothing can stop this Red Sox team--not even a minor injury to Mookie Betts. 9-2 Boston..
  4. Bo's going to be legit offensively--just hope his defense is better than his father Dante Bichette (think Steve Pearce bad in the OF).
  5. I'm sorry, but it's true--this Angels team is playing way over its head. It's the same damn team that struggled to score last season--Simmons is not going to keep hitting .373 (as of writing). Facing teams like the Rangers and A's with garbage pitching staffs inflate numbers. Wait until they play the Yankees and Red Sox.. and of course the Astros. And let's see Ohtani actually face a team other than Oakland.. They're already having to dig deep for depth due to injuries--Jaime Barria (21 years old) is making his MLB debut tomorrow after only 2 IP in AAA Salt Lake because Tropeano and Heaney aren't quite ready yet, and even those two are no more than backend starters. Red Sox on the other hand--are legit. Astros as well.
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about them staying dominant, unlike the Red Sox--the lack of good rotation depth in LA after Ohtani is eventually going to sink them. Garret Richards has been awful, who knows if Skaggs will stay healthy or efficient (despite a 9-1 lead, Skaggs has already thrown 100+ pitches thru 5 tonight), Shoemaker's hurt, Ramirez is done for the year (TJS), Bridwell was so bad recently, he got sent back to AAA, and we don't know what Heaney and Tropeano will bring when they return. I just feel this current start is fool's gold--playing bad teams like Oakland and Texas help. This team unfortunately is too much like the 1987 team.. good team ruined by lousy pitching. Ohtani can't pitch every day--and this every 6 days thing is going to be a problem down the road.
  7. At this point, Yanks fans are pining for Girardi to be rehired I bet--as Boone CANNOT manage a bullpen--who in hell lets two guys get left out there to give up 9 runs in an inning? Shreve has to be looking at a DFA at this point, and Kahnle has a bus to Scranton in his future (he has an option remaining).
  8. Yanks bullpen is throwing gasoline into the fire--Shreve and Kahnle have combined to give up 5 runs this inning. Sox lead 10-1.. Now 14-1 as Mookie slams.. he's got 4 hits, 5 runs scored, 4 RBIs, and a walk.. now 9 runs this inning.
  9. Absolute dominance by Sanchez! But how about some offense?
  10. Severino is getting lit up hard by the Red Sox.. and this is the last thing the Yankees need, another game where the bullpen gets gassed..
  11. Yanks/Red Sox on TSN2--Sale/Severino. Big pitching matchup.. and Jace Peterson got DFAd, BTW.
  12. Yeah right.. explain how stretched consumers are with rising prices for everything, and don't have the funds to go to ballgames.. and it seems league-wide, not just Baltimore..
  13. Sox have been a cure for the Rays losing.. where was this when they played Boston? Mallex Smith is having a big series..
  14. Regarding the attendance issue--we've seen a number of markets setting historic lows for attendance, as you've seen recently. Mediocre teams have watched their attendance crater due to the cold weather and the economy--and disgruntled fans. Look at the numbers in Baltimore yesterday--despite a rivalry matchup, only 7915 showed up.. it's not just Toronto. With so many top prospects in AA, a rebuild isn't really necessary, considering Vlad Jr., Gurriel and Bichette are going to likely be in the majors by mid to late season at the rate they're tearing up AA.. many teams wish they had the depth in decent prospects the Jays have right now.
  15. Way too early. Angels pen still has risks.. along with depth concerns in the backend of the rotation as injuries/poor performance eat away at their depth.
  16. Mariners so far have no hits vs.. Jake Junis? WTF? What a joke..
  17. Machado blast! 2-1 game..
  18. Morales Grade 1 hamstring strain--looks like 10 day DL for him. Will Teoscar get a callup (with Grandy or Pearce playing more DH while Teoscar plays every day?)
  19. 60 pitches through 3 innings.. he won't make it past 5--and the O's pen is already taxed from the Yankees series.
  20. As mentioned, O's pen is very depleted tonight-- no Araujo (34 pitches), Bleier (3 days in a row), Castro (35 pitches). If Bundy is knocked out earlier, you will likely see Hunter Harvey or Nestor Cortes Jr. out of that pen first.
  21. Chances are, he won't make an appearance--O's only plan to use him if Bundy gets knocked out early tonight, as they'd prefer him to be starting in AA.
  22. Another arm bites the dust in LA---JC Ramirez headed for Tommy John Surgery. Jamie Barria getting called up for Wednesday, way too early--he only has 16.2 IP in AAA.. he really needs a full season there, but they're still waiting on Heaney and Tropeano to return (possibly Thursday and Friday).
  23. O's pen is so depleted, they've called up top prospect Hunter Harvey.. well before he should've been. But they're desperate..
  24. And even despite a struggling Trout early on, they're 7-3! Still, like the Red Sox--waiting for them to play tougher competition. Can't just fatten up on Oakland and a Cleveland Indians team that is struggling offensively due to injuries and a MIA Jose Ramirez..
  25. Something is REALLY off with the Nats.. 4 losses in a row, and they really need Daniel Murphy back offensively. They could also use a bullpen..
