    Red Sox win. 3-1 to start the year--albeit playing Tampa. Could easily have been 4-0.. Tampa is really bad so far this season--no power, Matt Duffy the only one hitting. It's wasting a lot of good pitching for the Rays. Orioles are bad too..

    Kris Bryant finally close to putting this game out of its misery with a 3 run double. Montgomery in to close it out (surprisingly--thought we'd see Morrow).

    Outside of the bottom of the order (until Riddle and JT Realmuto return), there's some potential in that lineup. They've been really scrappy.. And extras AGAIN!!

    POSITION PLAYER ALERT! Pedro Florimon pitched the 8th in Atlanta tonight in the Braves' 15-2 rout of the Phillies. 27 runs by Atlanta so far this series.. Phillies pitching is really awful due to the Neshek and Hunter injuries, plus bad SP. Hurry up Arrieta! Oh, and Florimon gave up a HR to Lane Adams.. seriously? Lane Adams?

    Tie game again in Miami--the Cubs are really having trouble beating the rebuilding Marlins.. yet the Red Sox are having no trouble against their AL counterparts. In case you're wondering who's left on both bullpens that are usable: CUBS: Montgomery (maybe) Morrow Justin Wilson not available (threw 36 pitches last night) Butler not available (90 pitches last night).. MARLINS: Tayron Guerrero The chance of a position player or starting pitcher pitching in this game if it goes deep into extras is very high..

    UPDATE: No hitter through 7 now--and it's now a combined no-hitter, as Molitor chose keeping Gibson healthy the rest of the season over having him trying for a no-hitter in his first start.

    Ugh, why can't the Rays score? It has been painful to watch the Rays so far this season.. must be tough for a team with zero power hitters. When are the two weeks gonna come before the Rays can start calling up Bauers, Adames, Arroyo, etc.. this is so painful to see.

    Matt Davidson strikes again! 6 RBIs in just 2 games.. there are guys that get that in a month! Of course, shoddy Royals pitching helps..

    Boone's going to wear out Betances--34 pitches thru 1.2 IP.. we won't be seeing him until the Yanks home opener vs. Tampa due to this.

    Just in case--Chapman is not likely available today (20+ pitches yesterday and back-to-back days). And since Betances is already in the game, Robertson, Kahnle or Green likely gets a save opportunity if the Yanks take the lead.

    Welp, the Angels injury problems already starting--Kinsler has been placed on the DL for 10 days with groin issues.

    Yes, and yes. However, the Dodgers are missing a huge piece in Justin Turner, a 5.8 WAR player in 2017 and constant threat to put up 4.0 WAR.. the lack of his bat or glove really handcuffs the Dodgers lineup at bat and on the field, especially after Forsythe 3 errors last night--a guy who's out of position at 3B.. It's a bigger loss for them than Tulo's injury for the Jays. Also, Seager's hurting as well.

    Yes, but lots of free baseball and short starts = risk of blowups in later games because team's bullpens are woefully short. Hutch got the win, BTW as the Phillies won 5-4.
