  1. Humboldt vigil preempting programming. The game won't be airing in Canada. The vigil's more important than a baseball game right now, especially this early in the season.
  2. Yes, because of the lack of pitching depth in the Angels organization beyond Ohtani and Richards.. no idea if Skaggs' arm will hold up, and they're seeing 4th and 5th starters dropping like flies due to injury, lack of talent or waivers..
  3. O's and Yanks tied at 7 in the 9th.. for Jays fans, let's hope for extras so the O's burn out their pen.. they're not going to have Castro, Bleier, Arajuo and possibly O'Day available tomorrow (though they'll send Tanner Scott down after the game most likely to get a fresh arm). And Colome just melted down.. Sox now up 8-7.
  4. How about Jamieson Taillon! Complete game 1 hitter, Pirates are 7-2! Who thought this'd be happening?
  5. At least their offense woke up--and it's good news for Gomes, who's trying to avoid the risk of a DFA, as Francisco Meija is breathing down both Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez's necks.. and Maurer just sucks.
  6. Royals are dominating the punchless Indians. Even a gem by Clevinger isn't saving Cleveland.. anyone know what is wrong with the Indians? Wasn't this team supposed to be a superpower this season again? Because right now, like the entire AL Central, it's a mess.
  7. Hamels is getting hammered by the thundering Jays bats! 4-0 now!
  8. BTW--Ohtani's start today is the free game on MLB.TV. With all the Angels pitching injuries and frequent shuttles from Salt Lake, they need a strong outing from the Japanese Babe Ruth.
  9. Angels starters are dropping like flies--JC Ramirez is now out as well with forearm tightness--could Tommy John Surgery be next for him? And it's a blow for an Angels team that has already lost Shoemaker(forearm), Meyer (shoulder surgery), Bridwell (talent), Tropeano(elbow) still waiting on Heaney, and lost Scribner off waivers to the D-Backs. That huge depth they had is disappearing fast.
  10. Mike Wright is throwing batting practice for the O's right now--Yanks up 5-0 and not out of the 1st yet. And Wright's now out of the game.. looks like we know who's getting cut with Cobb coming within the week.
  11. POSITION PLAYER PITCHING ALERT!! Bryan Holaday is pitching the bottom of the 8th for the Marlins.. 2nd position player in MLB today to pitch (Daniel Robertson was the other).
  12. They do--they're just playing a team worse than them. And BTW, they just scored #20..
  13. Anyone want to see 20? Because the Phils have plenty of time for that..
  14. Rasmus hurt again.
  15. For people watching the Yanks/O's on Sportsnet later--the Yanks lineup today looks more like something you'd see in spring training, not on April 7th: Gardner CF Judge RF Stanton DH Gregorius SS Austin 1B Andujar 3B Peterson LF Romine C Torreyes 2B No Sanchez (calf), Walker or Wade.. plus a very overtaxed pen.
  16. Worse news--Sabathia(hip) and Drury(migraines) to the DL, and Holder winning a bus ticket back to Scranton Wilkes-Barre. Cessa, German up to be emergency help for the taxed bullpen (only Warren and Robertson are available today thanks to Boone's bullpen blunders), and former Braves prospect Jace Peterson called up to cover infield depth, as Gleybar Torres is not close to MLB ready, as he's struggling in AAA.
  17. Johnathon Holder just bought his bus ticket to Scranton Wilkes-Barre, as Pedro Alvarez just took him deep for a grand salami. How he got a roster spot is a mystery..
  18. And Matt Chapman just made a fantastic double play to get the A's out of that mess.. As for the Yanks/O's game--Yanks bullpen is GASSED. Warren cannot go unless it's a super emergency (pitched back-to-back days).. we'll either see a starter (Montgomery? Gray?) or a position player if this keeps going. Boonie's bullpen management needs to be evaluated..
  19. Ohtani just got a bases loaded walk--when was the last time you saw a pitcher walked with the bases loaded?
  20. Welp, Odor just managed to get himself doubled off.. And I never want Steve Pearce playing LF again..
  21. If only Ohtani could play every day and didn't have to have off days before he pitches--he's tearing the cover off the ball!
  22. If anyone's watching the Angels/A's game on Sportsnet One.. Bridwell just got a welcome back to the bigs by getting destroyed by the A's.. 1.2 IP, 7H, 6ER, 3HRs.. looks like he's turned back into the guy the O's DFAd..
  23. Boonie's bullpen usage is really starting to be questionable--he's got Chad Green right now in there in extras for a 2nd day, a guy rarely used back-to-back days.. and he's struggling with the O's as we speak. Meanwhile Shreve and Holder rot in the pen.. he's going to burn out his main games by mid-season at the pace he's using them.. Of course, Sabathia's injury doesn't help.
  24. Good god Reds pitching is BAD.. 14 runs given up to the frigging PIRATES. Colin Moran 4-4, 3R, 3 RBIs, 2B. Just nuts.. how is this Pirates team 5-1 (soon to be 6-1? Thought this was a tanking team.)
  25. Sox prospect and potential callup in case Devers, HanRam or Moreland struggle or get injured won't be helping anytime soon--Michael Chavis popped 80 games for PEDs. It was a drug called Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone.
