    John Farrell is the one who should be 30th, not Gibbons. Now that is a bad manager.. he runs players to the ground, ruined Tazawa, takes starters out too late, and frequently blows out the pen.. that Red Sox team is actually underperforming this year under his management. Other horrible managers include Terry Collins, Ned Yost, Robin Ventura..

    And heading straight for a crash within a week--they have a West Coast trip to Oakland and San Fran, then the Red Sox, Astros and Nats, 4 series against contending teams. Boston and Toronto will be ahead of Baltimore by month's end..

    Don't the Astros have one of the best mascots in MLB? Orbit's so hilarious! And Musgrove mows down the Jays.. and based on McCullers' injury, he's going to be starting for a while.. 15-day DL at least for Lance based on that elbow discomfort.

    Agreed. Morales is single-handedly responsible for losing this game and forcing Chavez to come in with runners on base and give up a 3-run HR.. Jeese is better when it's a clean inning. Considering Morales didn't impress in Buffalo during rehab, it's no surprise he's getting a DFA. After Chavez gave up that bomb, I thought "I'm outta here!" (I was at the game.)

    Wow--that's absolute BS if the Padres are trying to get Aaron Sanche or Stroman. Cashner isn't worth that.

    Do it! We need a lefty in the pen--Cecil is awful and a free agent after this season.

    No, the Padres aren't actually that bad. Most of the issues are with the defense(Kemp, Dickerson, Alexei Ramirez are awful defensively) and the pitching (they've used 25 pitchers this year, one catcher and Amarista, an infielder). Since they started giving guys like DIckerson, Jankowski and Schimpf a chance, the team has improved--they've been close to a .500 team since June.

    Red Sox are losing to rookie Michael Fulmer and the Tigers.. considering they have a huge West Coast trip coming, a loss would be a huge blow to Boston, especially considering they play the Mariners and Dodgers on the trip, along with the Angels.

    Dickey just didn't have it.. errors by Pillar and Travis didn't help. And as for the Padres--we haven't even seen the young talent on the farm in Renfroe or Margot.. that team could be on the upswing soon if they get their pitching straightened out and get rid of Kemp. Of course, we're done seeing the Padres for a long time.. Bring on the O's. Outside of Sunday (which I will be in attendance), pitching favors Toronto this series. It's a very important series for Toronto, along with the Astros series. And BTW, KC and Tampa, who come after that, are a mess right now.. they look nothing like contenders at the moment.
