  1. Kemp's D in RF is unwatchable for Padres fans.. no woner the Dodgers wanted him gone.
  2. Kemp is SOOOO bad defensively--worse than Bautista.
  3. Junior Lake and his bad D and bat have been DFAd to make room for Bautista, who is back and leading off, Carrera returns back to a 4th OF role: 1. Jose Bautista ® RF 2. Josh Donaldson ® 3B 3. Edwin Encarnacion ® DH 4. Michael Saunders (L) LF 5. Troy Tulowitzki ® SS 6. Russell Martin ® C 7. Kevin Pillar ® CF 8. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 9. Devon Travis ® 2B
  4. Yanks future is much brighter after this trade--even with some short term pain. McKinney and Torres have some serious promise.. they're likely long-term replacements for Headley and Beltran (or Gardner). And the Yanks aren't likely done trading.. especially considering they have Nova and Beltran possibly available for the highest bidder.
  5. Basically means nothing--as long as he's healthy, he'll be back on Toronto's roster tomorrow, leading off and playing RF.
  6. He won't be leaving until the end of 2017--what you forgot was that he's still arb eligible for next season, as he doesn't have 6 years service time. Jays still control him for 1 more season.
  7. For now at least, Ryan Tepera has joined the team.. though he may go down when Bautista returns, and Lake may get DFAd when Goins also returns..
  8. If only my trip was this weekend and not next.. I could've gotten that bobblehead. I'll be there next weekend, though..
  9. Both teams lost on the deal. Revere's hitting only .214/.263/.303, though his defense in CF is OK.. but the Nats need an upgrade badly.
  10. Sox lose. Houston could be 1.5 out by night's end--BUT... they have larger aims at the division, as Texas continues to melt down due to crappy pitching and significant injuries.
  11. It also means Sunday's starter for Seattle will be TBA (possibly Wade LeBlanc).
  12. Looks like a Adam Lind DFA is coming based on this deal, plus the Mariners are selling..
  13. At least Junior Lake will be DFAd in a week when Bautista comes back.
  14. Can someone please get Tabler and Devlin a farm system report of the Orioles? Baltimore's farm is one of the worst in MLB. No way they'll be adding a starting pitcher--they can't afford it. Especially considering top prospect Hunter Harvey is facing Tommy John surgery.
  15. O's and Nats are going to do everything and anything to keep them. This isn't the pre-revenue sharing years where the Yankees outspend everyone.. even smaller market clubs have a shot to keep young stars.
  16. Donaldson, Machado and Harper are likely to resign with their current clubs by that time. With all the revenues around, no way any of them reach free agency--no way Toronto, Baltimore or Washington give up their franchise players easily. This isn't the early 2000s.. Judge and Sanchez aren't sure things, with Judge's K issues and Sanchez's D.. And FYI, the Yanks don't have that kind of money--due to poor attendance, luxury tax issues, Yankee Stadium mortgage payments and huge revenue sharing bills, the Yanks can no longer afford to keep payrolls this high--I've heard that they're operating at significant losses with a $230-$240M payroll, and the Steinbrenners want to get under the tax, which is at 50% at $175-180M($189M with benefits), and likely to increase further next CBA. In addition, until the Yankees show signs of putting a capable team on the field, free agents will avoid the Bronx. Look at the mess in LA and NY with the NBA's Lakers and Knicks--even with money, free agents won't go there because the teams stink.
  17. Run away with the AL West possibly--Texas has lost 11 of their last 14 because the pitching has imploded, causing them to lose 5.5 games in the standings to Houston. Even with Darvish back, it won't do much good.. losing Holland and Lewis really hurts, plus the depth in the Rangers system in pitching sucks..
  18. I only see 1 team threatening Toronto and Boston/Baltimore--and it's Houston, who actually have a shot for their division because the Rangers are in free fall due to crappy pitching that makes Toronto look good. Nobody else looks like a threat in the wild card.
  19. **** the O's. BTW, the Jays are better than a year ago--we were 46-46 this time last year. And outside of Houston, no one is close to threatening the Jays in the wild card, showing the Rays collapse and overall mediocrity in the AL Central and West, along with a bad Yankees team.
  20. Don't bet on it yet--remember, Hill is coming off a blister and recent injuries.
  21. No ground lost in the wild card--Houston was shut out by the Mariners. So now we hope for a Rays win..
  22. Uhh---Tampa/Baltimore is still going on. And don't assume an automatic win for the O's..
  23. Thole really screwed up there.. but the A's defense is to blame too for fooling Thole into trying to run home..
