  1. Going to the August 13th game on the Saturday..
  2. Pass! He needs to grow up.. Gregg Zaun would tear him a new one if he came to Toronto..
  3. It's like the Jays don't know how to play at Comerica.. they seem more used to small ballparks in the AL East.. at least a few of those flyballs may be HRs at Rogers Centre.. but CF in Detroit is large.. thank goodness tomorrow is our last game there this year.
  4. Well, a lot of AL teams are in a similar boat--Detroit, Toronto and KC are all within a game of Seattle (2nd wild card).. and meanwhile Baltimore is starting to run with the division.. and I can imagine Red Sox Nation is ticked off..
  5. Even with all this losing in Detroit, Toronto is still only a game out of Seattle.. as the Mariners are imploding due to injuries and regression to the mean.. they're not a good team.
  6. This game's on Gibbons--should've had Osuna in the 9th even if Sanchez still had anything left in the tank..
  7. Hopefully MLB throws the book at Machado--and he should get more than Odor, because he got nailed 5 games 2 years ago for throwing his bat at Josh Donaldson, when he was a member of the A's.
  8. Say goodbye to Machado for 5-10 games.. he's going to get suspended for sure for this (and Ventura as well).
  9. Buck's drunk again--it's only the 5th inning, not the 7th!
  10. No Ryan Goins surprisingly--are they gonna have him pitch the 8th?
  11. Gavin Floyd must be hurt--incredibly wild and ineffective tonight.
  12. Fulmer's actually pretty good--he hasn't given up a run in 3 starts, including tonight. However, we have a chance still--the Tigers pen is really BAD.
  13. True--if the Yankees overpay. Please also note that the 2016 crop of free agents is quite bleak--Yanks are probably aiming for 2018 for a spending spree, when Harper and Machado are free agents.
  14. The Yanks have no choice but to trade for prospects/young players.. Beltran's a free agent, Gardner/Ellsbury are in decline, no idea what they'll get from Bird, and A-Rod is useless.. at least they're giving Refsnyder a shot now in a super-utility role (but mostly playing 1B for now--Yanks have nobody in the system that can play 1B full time.), and Hicks hasn't done a thing. What's also concerning is the fact Sabathia and Nova are potential free agents.. and Betances is about to get expensive (he hits arb after this season). Yanks need SP.. but their farm is basically empty of impact pitching prospects after Severino. While they have money to spend--will any free agents want to come to New York, when the club is in serious decline and needing a major rebuild?
  15. Aaron Judge--near 30% K rate, 7 HR, OBP under .300.. The K rate is part of the reason he has yet to get a callup. Gary Sanchez--injured and blocked by McCann/Romine. Mason Williams--hurt Jorge Mateo--still a ways off being in A+ ball. Tyler Austin--no longer a prospect Jake Cave--marginal prospect at best Greg Bird--out unil 2017\ Tyler Wade--low power, bottom of the order guy projected Ben Gamel--marginal prospect Basically, the Yankees have no real impact players in the system that'll help right now this year.. Judge and Bird might help next season, and Mateo likely towards later 2017. Otherwise, the Yanks are in for a long rebuild..
  16. Considering HanRam's struggles to hit for power, Sandoval's health concerns, and question whether Shaw is a long term piece, as he is a stopgap until Rafael Devers or Michael Chavis is MLB ready, you can imagine Boston will be interested in EE. However, he will cost Boston a pick very likely, plus Boston's budget is a bit tight after this season due to all these bad contracts for HanRam, Sandoval and Porcello (About $190M is already on the books for 2017, assuming Ortiz and Buchholz depart), and the fact they have many other holes to fill in the rotation and bullpen, as Uehara and Tazawa are free agents, and Boston's system doesn't have suitable replacements.
  17. I see Bautista being more likely to stay in Toronto than EE.. especially considering Bautista's likely to be moved to 1B/DH within a year two. As for Edwin, it depends on Sam Travis's development in AAA for the Red Sox.. and HanRam/Sandoval's roles.
  18. And we're on the NESN feed again.. this happened last week in Toronto.
  19. Man, Sportsnet's really having audio issues today.. and the NESN audio is behind..
  20. Chris Young vs. a righty.. ugh. Unfortunately, Boston's options are limited.. they have no trust in Rusney Castillo. No idea why Martin is batting cleanup, though..
  21. More likely an off-day after playing 21 straight--and to get EE some 1B time, as they have a NL series with Philly next week with no DH for 2 games.
  22. Well, I hoped for 2/3.. and off to Detroit we go, as tomorrow's game is certain to be rained out.
