  1. Not surprised with this loss.. Wei Yen Chen is really good. He is in the Top 10 for the CY Young Predictor on ESPN, BTW, due to his 16 wins, along with his teammate Zach Britton.
  2. You'll probably say "Season over" after this loss... if the Royals weren't losing to the White Sox 3-1 as we speak. All we lost is a game in the schedule.. still, we need to win tomorrow and Wednesday.
  3. That's more reasonable. I mean, AA's done a good job bringing up our young pitchers. But choosing managers has not been his strong point.. Farrell is garbage in both Toronto and Boston(and will likely be fired this off-season by the Red Sox), and Gibbons is mediocre at best.
  4. There are worse managers than Gibbons. And Alex likely keeps his job because of the development of the young pitchers.
  5. Papelbon suspended 7 games for adjusting his crotch.. I guess. Not even touching it with a ten-foot pole.
  6. Tolleson.
  7. Not even Showalter can help if they don't have the pieces to contend.
  8. Well, their manager is worse than Gibbons in Ned Yost. I mean, using Crow vs. Nava yesterday? That's a fireable offense.
  9. Oops, forgot Nelson Cruz. He's a goner as well.. no way the O's give him $15M+/year, especially with the Yanks and Rangers expected to bid on him. It's uncertain what the O's will be like next year, or whether they will be competitive. Their window is nearing its end, especially as Jones ages, and the current core hits free agency.
  10. Yes, but after this season, it will get more difficult for Baltimore to keep this team together. Hardy is a free agent and is likely headed to the Yankees or another SS needy club for the highest bidder, which won't be Baltimore. And Markakis is free agent bound as the O's aren't touching that $17.5M option. The problem is that Baltimore lacks the deep pockets of the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays to keep their team together (this is their first $100M+ payroll EVER).. and they have a ton of arb raises and options coming up on their pitching, bullpen, and the suspended Chris Davis.
  11. Once again, Ned Yost is trying to book a ticket to the unemployment line with Bo Porter.. the Royals trail 3-0 to the bottom feeding White Sox. If they lose this series and it ends up costing KC a wild card to the Mariners, Blue Jays (I know they're losing.. don't rub it in) or Cleveland, Yost likely gets canned.
  12. Gibbons is stupid. Markakis should've been out.
  13. Ugh Markakis.. good thing neither he or Hardy will be with the O's next season, as they are free agents, and expected to get bigger money elsewhere on teams like the Yankees and Cubs.
  14. ANd Chen K's Valencia..
  15. Great start for the Jays. They're lighting up Chen.
  16. IF they weren't facing Cody Allen, and have the bottom of the order (Moustakas, Kratz, Escobar) to face him in that inning.
  17. C'mon Bautista drive in that run! We need all the runs we can get vs. the O's.
  18. 3.5. KC is down 4-2 in the suspended game and almost certain to lose.
  19. This is a playoff team in Baltimore? Where are the fans? This park should be full..
  20. 3.5 because KC will lose the suspended game vs. CLE on Monday the 22nd when they finish the game.
  21. 3.5 out is not meaningless. Until KC proves they can win the 2nd wild card and NOT use Liam Hendriks in a meaningful game, or Seattle can actually beat the Angels, we're not out of this.
  22. Especially against a decent White Sox offense.
  23. Jays and Mariners postseason hopes just improved: Andy McCullough @McCulloughStar · 57m Liam Hendriks will start tomorrow. Danny Duffy will pitch in a sim game. The Royals do not intend to pitch Danny Duffy until Sept. 22. Guthrie, Vargas and Shields are in line to face Detroit this weekend. Looks like a guarantee 2/3 losses for KC (Sale pitches Wednesday), and a potential sweep for the Tigers.
  24. Snider is no more than a platoon player. He doesn't play vs. left handers, and he's still not a great OF defensively. Plus, Marte and Polanco are likely to be in that OF next year with McCutchen, meaning he won't get a lot of playing time. He's only been able to play due to injuries in the OF.
  25. Wow, do the Yanks suck..
