  1. Not a good night if you're an A's fan. Royals lead 5-1 on the Red Sox. And King Felix pitches tonight.. the A's could fall out of a postseason berth with a loss tonight.
  2. To people thinking Oakland will cruise vs. Texas this coming week.. think again. The Rangers are beating the Braves, who are as offensively inept as the A's, right now. Lisalverto Bonilla pitched well vs. the Braves. Looks like it's basically between the Brew Crew and the Pirates for a wild card in the NL.
  3. Kansas City has lost to the Red Sox. Detroit retakes the AL Central, Jays only lose .5 game in the standings, regardless of the OAK/SEA game, although in reality, we should be still 3.5 back, because of KC's assumed loss in the KC/CLE game.
  4. If there's some good news, KC is losing to Boston 4-2. So we'll only lose .5 game at worst.
  5. Grant Ball Four is warming up in the Rays pen.. wonder if Maddon is not going to let McGee go a 2nd inning.
  6. Well, that sucked. Let's hope Happ pitches well in the 2nd inning.
  7. Geez, enough with the HBPs! Someone's gonna retaliate if this keeps up.
  8. Those are some ugly AAA numbers for Karns. And they really need Jennings back..
  9. Paredes with a walk-off for the O's. Yanks playoff hopes take a major hit..
  10. BTW, as expected, Buehrle moved up to Sunday, Stroman to the O's series on Monday.
  11. Chris Young again! 1-0 Yankees.
  12. At the rate this game is going, both teams will blow out their bullpens before the 2nd game of this double-header.. and with roster expansion, this game could go a while.
  13. 0-0 into the 11th.. what are they gonna do if this game goes 16-17 and goes right into the Jays game?
  14. O's (when healthy): Machado, Hardy, Schoop, Davis/Pearce.
  15. So says the Yankees and Indians fans, who are also in the same boat as the Jays. At least the Indians still have a division title within reach (3.0/3.5 back of KC/DET, assuming the CLE win when they finish the KC/CLE game).
  16. Major blow to any hopes of the O's getting past the ALDS. Detroit, KC and Cleveland just saw their hopes of getting to the ALCS increase significantly. It also increases the Yankees and Jays playoff chances, as well.
  17. Of course, it'll depend how he is then.. Rays made this deal as a high-risk/high-reward deal, considering they have no money to sign major free agents this offseason with payroll cuts coming.
  18. A reality check for anyone expecting Boston to spend money on top free agents: http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2014/09/12/source-dont-count-on-red-sox-going-after-two-high-priced-pitchers/ Not a surprise.. most of those high-priced free agents will be going to up and coming and championship teams like Chicago, New York(if the Yankees have any money), L.A., S.F., etc, and not to Boston, who currently have no real plan on how to return to the sustainable contender they were through most of the 2000s before their decline starting in 2010 (with a brief blip when they won a World Series in 2013, which was a fluke).
  19. Neil Wagner has signed a minors contract with the Rays.. of course, he won't be ready until the 2016 season. Still a strange signing for a guy who is out for the 2015 season.
  20. Calm down. The O's will give them a hard time this weekend.
  21. Happ, Dickey, Buehrle. Stroman being pushed back for rest. And BTW, it's vs. Nate Karns (very winnable), Jeremy Hellickson, and Chris Archer.
