A reality check for anyone expecting Boston to spend money on top free agents:

Not a surprise.. most of those high-priced free agents will be going to up and coming and championship teams like Chicago, New York(if the Yankees have any money), L.A., S.F., etc, and not to Boston, who currently have no real plan on how to return to the sustainable contender they were through most of the 2000s before their decline starting in 2010 (with a brief blip when they won a World Series in 2013, which was a fluke).
