  1. They're going to need a deep outing from Whitley.. the bullpen is a little worn from that Red Sox game last night. And I doubt we'll see Miller tonight (threw 30+ pitches last night).
  2. Yes, we don't need to hear the complaints about Thole batting 6th... I mean, the Yanks have a .155 hitting Drew batting fifth, and a .197 hitting Beltran batting cleanup! This Yankees team wouldn't be where it is without the bullpen and Ellsbury/Gardner.
  3. Yanks resting regulars for no apparent reason.. and Drew batting 5th makes our Thole batting 6th look good.. Drew is garbage! They must feel that they're not winning this game because they don't expect a strong outing by Whitley..
  4. Either it's about expansion or warning the Rays and A's to get their stadium situations fixed or else.
  5. Yes, but Mookie needs to be moved down in the order.. right now, he is killing the Red Sox with his low average in the leadoff spot. Too bad Farrell doesn't see it..
  6. Too bad Cueto will cost an arm and leg in prospects.. plus Cincy is still in it. They're not going to make any moves until they are 8-10 games of the wild card race, which they are not (only 1.5 games back of the Padres.)
  7. I agree with this. Red Sox fans in Boston are likely saying the same thing about their team.. as they're only 0.5 game above us. And Boston is only ahead of us in starter's ERA by a small amount (5.66 vs. our 5.70, and we've played one more game.) Hopefully we see some improvement soon.. and hopefully Estrada's move to the rotation stabilizes the starting pitching staff.
  8. Brewers skipper Ron Roenicke is first to the unemployment line. Next up, Ventura, Farrell, McClendon, and maybe Gibbons or Walker..
  9. Uhhh.. you do realize we were in the middle of the long dynasty of the New York Yankees when they had their core, right? Between 1994-2008, it was usually the Yankees (and sometimes the Red Sox) every year out of the East. And we would've had a playoff appearance in 1998 had the current wild card system been in effect.
  10. In the AL East, that's a fair recipe. We know the Yanks won't sustain their recent success.. and the rest of the East is a clusterf***..
  11. Boston has more problems than just pitching(can't hit with RISP, little extra base power, struggles with Betts, Bogaerts and now Swihart, of which Betts and Swihart should be in AAA right now, Napoli looking cooked).. plus, calling Swihart up hurts his value. Plus, if Boston continues to struggle, they'll be selling veterans instead of trading for someone like Hamels.
  12. Man, Boston really wants that 30th ranked pitching staff(they've played 2 fewer games, BTW).. Kelly's getting lit up, down 5-0 to the Yankees.
  13. Wouldn't be so sure.. Shark's been awful in Chicago this year.
  14. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-baseball-shaikin-20150503-story.html What a train wreck the Angels organization is.. at this point, unless the A's and Mariners turn it around, Houston is going to run away with that division by a mile..
  15. Can we fire Pete Walker first? He's the bigger problem right now, because of the rotation's woes.
  16. Potentially.. but their predicted standings as of right now still predict us as a middle-of-the road team (and they're now picking the Yankees as the top team, and still thinking Boston is a good team.. that won't last when John Farrell screws up.. next to Gibbons, Farrell is one of the worst managers in the game.) Still, this rotation can't get any worse.. things have to get better sooner or later.
  17. And yet, before today, it's not even the worst in the AL. Chicago and Boston are also chasing for the bottom. The only AL East team with a decent rotation is Tampa.. even the Yanks are mediocre at best, and are only being boosted by a strong bullpen, as their offense is middle of the pack at best.
  18. Yeah.. but Seattle has serious issues. They just sent two of their bullpen arms packing on a bus to Tacoma (Medina and Olson).. next up, they need to do something about that lineup..
  19. Happ got lit up vs. the Astros today, BTW. And his new team is more messed up than the Jays.
  20. He needs to be fired soon. We need a new pitching coach ASAP. This is getting ridiculous.
  21. Boy, is Chicago (White Sox) awful.. about to be swept by the Twins, and their pitching is bad, plus they can't score! Look, I know the Jays are bad with their pitching right now.. but there are teams in worse shape! Our situation is actually comparable to the mess in Boston right now..
  22. Mariners find another way to blow a game.. and you think the Jays are bad? Try being a Mariners fan.. 10-15, and they can't pitch or score (unless it's Nelson Cruz.). That team is an even worse mess than the Jays. And the Astros(18-7) now lead by 6.5 over the terrible Angels. At this current pace, Houston is going to pretty much have a huge lead in the division..
  23. Well, on the plus side, the Rays lost.. as for Cleveland.. this team is really confusing. They've got the talent.. buy why are they in last place?
