  1. Well, the Marlins management punished the team for nearly being no hit by firing Mike Redmond and Rob Leary:
  2. Wow, Marisinick just air-mailed that and gave Martin two free bases..
  3. Curse you Justin Bour...
  4. Make that 8 now. He's heading to the 9th with a shot at history..
  5. Already have Gardner/Ellsbury as leadoff guys, plus they really want Gregorius to succeed. So no way.
  6. Pretty much. Those stupid Crawford boxes have been a nightmare for our pitching staff.. luckily, this is our last trip here this season. However, we see the Astros again in a few weeks.. in Toronto.
  7. Not sure if that's a good idea.. the pitching in Boston is just as dreadful as the Jays, with any recent strong performance not being convincing due to the fact they've been playing horrible teams in Oakland and Seattle. Juan Nieves got fired because Boston's pitching has been dreadful post-2013. And that team has just as serious problems as the Jays, starting with that terrible manager..
  8. Only John Gibbons and Pete Walker. Our farm is still light years ahead of 2009, when it ranked near the bottom because of JPR's terrible drafting.
  9. As is Baltimore, Oakland, Seattle, Cleveland, Chicago (AL)...
  10. Wilner's an idiot. Anyone who's seen Francis in recent years knew he was going to get pounded vs. Houston's offense. They really need to get someone else in that long relief role.
  11. What's your bet they're doing the same whining we are on the O's boards? They've got pretty much the same record as us.. and they're at high risk of being swept by the Angels this weekend, especially considering both Norris and Tillman were scratched due to illness and injury. Luckily, the Jays avoid Garrett Richards next series.
  12. Please DFA Jeff Francis and fire Pete Walker! We can't continue going on like this if we're going to contend. Hate to say it, but I agree with all of you.. that was a stupid move to give Jeff Francis the 6th inning vs. the lefties. He has nothing left in the tank.. get someone else up here who can actually give innings. Bring Jenkins or Copeland or somebody back up here..
  13. Nobody will touch Soriano with a 10-foot pole. Apparently, he has attitude issues, along with his implosion in the 2nd half last year when he was with the Nats.
  14. Wow, is Feldman garbage. The Astros really need another starter or two if they're going to hold off the Angels..
  15. Nice by Russell! 2-0 already with him at 3rd.. looks like we have a fair shot tonight as long as Estrada doesn't sh*t the bed like Dickey did last night.
  16. And for those people complaining why didn't we resign Melky Cabrera.. he's been lousy for the White Sox, (.248/.307/.288), with no power.
  17. BTW, EE is out of the lineup due to his knee, plus he needs an off day.
  18. Reyes should be back within a week. As for Bautista going back to RF, who knows? But we really need him healthy.
  19. Rays can't afford to take on EE's contract, and are more likely to be major sellers at the deadline as the team is likely to regress by July, and ownership will likely push for more salary cuts on the Rays, especially with the near non-existent attendance, especially if they want to send a message that they NEED a new stadium, they'll start selling off stars if the city of St. Pete refuses to help in building a new stadium. Do I even need to talk about what happened with the Expos? Cubs are more likely to go after someone like Hamels..
  20. And his road numbers are less inspiring: 1-0, 4.26 ERA, 1.263 WHIP. Basically, his numbers are Safeco inflated. If he was pitching somewhere like Toronto, his numbers would be similar to last year. Of course, the trade hasn't been great for the Mariners, as Happ can't hit.. something the Mariners need.
  21. Rays lost, O's lost, don't care about the Sox at the moment until they actually catch up to the Rays, and the Yankees are getting blown out by the Royals.. perhaps the Yankees are falling back to earth? Still, it's not a good thing when the Jays don't take advantage. Can't we have one decent pitcher?
