  1. Got to agree with that. And I wouldn't be surprised if they move the series or the next one to a neutral site (such as Milwaukee).
  2. Whoa, that's awful! Wonder if the O's will be even able to play tonight due to the mess in Baltimore..
  3. Bautista is in the lineup DHing. And that's going to be a tough lineup for a bad Red Sox pitching staff to handle.. remember, that staff gave up 18 runs yesterday vs. the O's!
  4. Boston's offensive is actually quite awful. Many of their runs have come via unearned runs due to other team's errors. Plus, Boston's offense has been mostly HanRam.. Does anyone have a list of teams with the most unearned runs? Boston I know is at the top.. and that is not a good sign for their offense, especially when they face better defenses.
  5. Problem is that it's mostly HanRam with those HRs(8), and 2 of them yesterday were in garbage time with the Sox down a lot.. and most of his HRs have come in losing affairs(doesn't that remind us of Vernon Wells?). And BTW, Ortiz is hitting .200 in his last 10.(.194 avg. overall), and despite his 4 HRs, has really struggled at the plate, looking like the 39 year-old in decline he is. And Pedroia, despite his 4 HRs, isn't going to sustain his power, as he has not for power in 3 years. And the rest of the lineup is really struggling to hit for average and power overall.
  6. Unfortunately, Father Time has not been kind to Drew, Headley and Tex. Same with Gardner. And Didi is actually worse defensively at SS than Jeter.. Brendan Ryan can't come back soon enough.
  7. Only if the Red Sox actually hit.. they're 11th in the AL in average, with several notable low averages in Betts, Ortiz, Napoli, among others. And Bogaerts is hitting .129 in his last 10 games.
  8. Boston and New York are in the bottom tier.. and Boston's defensive woes show how much Victorino's injury is going to hurt. And BTW, HanRam ranks as one of the worst defenders in the game, and should be shifted to DH ASAP(he's hitting .300 with 8 HRs so far). Numbers aren't kind on Napoli, Bogaerts or Sandoval either. As for the Yankees, their defense is BAD.. only Ellsbury, Beltran, and Young (when at the corners) produced good UZR numbers. They're awful in the infield.. Jays don't really have any bad fielders.. they're average to above-average in all positions, and Saunders is heading to LF as soon as Bautista's back.
  9. Didn't Estrada give up a ton of HRs last year as a starter? As for the other guys, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
  10. Holy what a baserunning blunder by Eric Campbell... it's only the 2nd out!! What an idiot.
  11. Estrada is better suited for the pen (ask Brewers fans), West has not reached AAA yet this season and is not an option right now, and Guilmet isn't striking anyone out in Buffalo and is a depth arm at best. Sanchez to the pen will only happen if we get another starter.. BTW, Felix Doubront could be an option soon.. he's getting close to being assigned to Buffalo, and could be considered if he does well there. Remember, he had some success in Boston.. still waiting on Johan Santana though.
  12. Well, Toronto and Baltimore are the first to score 100 runs in the AL... and Boston is first to give up 100, as their pitching staff has been nuked by the O's.. it's 18-4 now in favour of the O's! Boston now has the worst run differential in the AL East (-10) in a mediocre division with no real dominant teams. What's your bet huge changes are made in Boston after this game? UPDATE: Make that 18-7.. HanRam just homered vs. soon to be DFAd Rule 5 pick Jason Garcia.
  13. Did Gregg Zaun just say Boston is playing better lately? What a bunch of crap. They've lost 5 of their last 7, and their rotation and bullpen is even more disastrous than the Blue Jays.
  14. Now keep up the success at Yankee Stadium.. Rays are 0-3 vs. the Yankees so far this season.
  15. Thank goodness we're done with Tampa until June 22. Now some weaker competition looms in the Red Sox (who are getting shelled 12-0 as we speak.) and a struggling Indians team.
  16. 2 against Boston, 2 against Miami, and 1 vs. Baltimore. Too small a sample size. Let's see where the Rays are by June 22, when we see them again. And BTW, we have 5 of our 9 wins vs. the O's. So no real difference. Besides, we've dominated the Yankees as well.. but our early schedule has been tough. Thank goodness it gets easier from here.. Boston's a mess and Cleveland has been awful so far..
  17. Tampa has been pretty streaky to start.. 4 wins in a row after starting 0-2 vs. the O's, then losing 5 of 6(3 to the Yankees, their next opponent).. now they're about to go to 5 in a row in wins. How will they keep this up vs. the Yanks, who have also started well?
  18. He'll have to settle for Tampa or Montreal.. Yankees and Mets will block any move to Brooklyn.
  19. Can we get to Boston already to clobber their awful rotation? Tampa just finds ways to beat everybody.. including the Jays (and Red Sox).
  20. Red Sox are getting pounded again.. if you think we're having it bad, imagine what it's like there in Boston right now..
  21. Good news for the Jays.. Red Sox pitcher Wade Miley got knocked out early, lasting just 2.1 IP as he wasn't fooling anyone (and his control was awful.). So we'll be seeing a tired Sox bullpen and a demoralized team as well.. hey, at least it's someone other than Tampa for the Jays! I don't really want to see the Rays again for a while..
  22. Mostly splitters.. and those are down in velocity too. Lough's walk-off HR was a 76 mph meatball..
  23. Uehara is no longer elite. He's been throwing about 86mph fastballs so far this season, yet Farrell has no real options, as Mujica is also garbage. Might need to consider Ogando in the role. Barnes was there to relieve a very overworked bullpen (only Texas is more overworked).. the smarter move would've been to try to let Barnes finish it. Of course, a Tolleson-esque performance in the OF by Allen Craig didn't help either, as he dove and missed, causing a ball to roll to the warning track for a triple for Adam Jones. Craig is garbage..
  24. A bit difficult to evaluate. Those dang Rays just keep finding ways to win.. However, they really should've left Osuna in to see if he could get through the inning, then went to Castro.
