  1. I disagree. Janssen and Santos are two of the Jays best three relievers.
  2. If Happ is as overpriced as you say, then he can't be moved so it's a mute point. Moving Janssen and Santos for just salary relief would make the team worse in the short term. They should only be moved for MLB ready talent and that is hard to match up between contenders.
  3. He has already tried to move Santos and you could argue all three of them have surplus value. They should move one of Janssen or Santos, but contenders don't like trading mlb ready talent. Unless the Jays sign a pitcher they need Happ as depth.
  4. That ignores the budget reality he faces. The fact that he announced he won't outbid for pitchers shows money is a serious concern for him at the moment, or rather Rogers.
  5. I don't think AA wants to get anymore question marks. If he's been given one bullet, He's looking for a sure shot.
  6. Budget constraints and the need for some level of certainty. I would imagine that's why the Jays aren't in on Garza.
  7. The weak Canadian dollar has more to do with Canada than America. Housing bubble, Slow growth, no chance of inflation over 2% for years, and less foreign investment as we get further from the recession. The U.S. is in a much better situation than Canada.
  8. That is way too easy though.
  9. I would argue they should prioritize a starting pitcher and I imagine they wouldn't dump Happ unless another pitcher is brought in first. I would also try and move one of Jansen or Santos and try and sell high on Rasmus.
  10. Imagine you are AA and you have been told you have hit maximum payroll for the upcoming season. How would you improve the team?
  11. I don't see how the Miami trade was bad, Sure the Jays didn't win the world series, but the move was praised at the time. The Dickey trade was done because the trade had to be budget neutral, so AA had no other options if he wanted to bring in an ace. The only trades he has made that I thought were bad at the time was the Napoli trade because it seemed like he took the first offer and the Bonifacio trade because he sold low for no discernible reason, Makes me think he was bad in the clubhouse.
  12. The Jays scored the 9th most runs last season, With many players injured or shutdown early. The offense will be fine. Rotation needs an upgrade, But this team can likely contend as it stands now.
