  1. HAHA, sorry I did that on purpose. King posted the real link. Unfortunately the original one was not an April Fools Joke, but in fact, reality.
  2. A little late but... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/004/offseason-in-review-toronto-blue-jays.html
  3. Its really not one game though. Its really game 163 of last year. Why? Because its essentially the same roster. We had holes, they were not filled. What do I remember from last year...Reyes getting injured. Check. Dickey being mediocre to bad. Check. Dickey taking the blame, and the talking heads discussing his subpar KBall velocity and saying in his cy young year he was in the low 80's...blah blah. Thats one game. But it really is all 162 games of last year. When the front office strategy for the offseason is to do nothing, and pray for good health...then game one, your starting star shortstop goes down, with Jonathan Diaz replacing him...what does that say about your offseason strategy?? We're not panicking because of one game. We're panicking because that one game is the exact same BS as all 162 games last year.
  4. This is my favorite post in my short time on these boards. You've made my morning.
  5. See below for the Listing of Win Predictions. I can provide updates at various times in the year. maybe at the quarter, half, 3/4...etc. Stats (Not including Atothe's 12, which we hope is an outlier): Mean Wins - 86 Wins. Median Wins - 86 Wins. Mode (most common choice) - 83 Wins. Min - 66 Wins. Max - 101 Wins. 6. At least he's turned the Bisons into a powerhouse.
  7. I'll go with 83. Monday morning i'll compile all of these instead of doing work.
  8. I know on the ESPN Boards we used to do this. Have you guys done it in the past?
  9. The movie ends with D'Arnaud catching the last pitch from Syndergaard in the 2016 World Series win by the Mets.
  10. Max Casella is AA http://timburtoncollective.com/interviews/maxcasella/max_final.jpg
  11. Hopefully Goins Roided up while he could this winter.
  12. Not to hijack the thread, but it is along the same lines (and I dont want to start a new one)... Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 11m Barring a late change, #BlueJays’ rotation expected to be Dickey, Hutchison, Buerhle Morrow, McGowan.
  13. He wouldn't be an improvement. He would just be more minor league "depth" at this point, where there really isnt a need.
  14. Agreed on Romero. And I understand that the failure of these guys on relatively short contracts, and as you mentioned guys like Howard, argues, in fact, for the policy. That said, my point is, if you ARE going to fail with guys like Happ, and to a lesser extent, Romero (as you said, was not a bad signing at the time) and have to eat money regardless, i'd rather forego the policy altogether and least have a chance to have a superstar on your team for the next 7 years.
  15. How sick is it that 10% of this fing club's payroll is tied up in Happ and Romero. For all the talk about "The policy" of not giving out contracts longer than 5 years, i'd rather shoot for the fences by going all in and signing premium free agents to longer deals than to be harpooned by the likes of Romero and Happ.
  16. Glad these internal options are working out. Otherwise we wouldve actually had to spend money on a free agent starter in the offseason. Phew.
  17. Why? Wilner says that Spring Training doesnt mean anything!
  18. I'm not. When its over, we can't say "these games dont mean anything" when our starters suck and we lose.
  19. Sorry about that. I know its an extreme idea. I hope I didnt offend anyone.
  20. I don't know if anyone has thought about this...its kind of outside of the box thinking on my part, but...maybe the Jays shouldve upgraded their rotation in the offseason??
  21. The Wilner/Stoeten chickfight on Twitter is entertaining at least.
  22. Remember Ken Dayley. The Jays hadn't signed a free agent in years, and then Gillick decided to splurge on Ken Dayley on a 3-year deal I think. Then he got vertigo and never pitched for the Jays again.
