  1. Who gives a f*** about these articles and Power Rankings etc in May?! I care about rankings in Sept most. Its fun to be in first playing good and meaningful ball. One game at a time. A chimp could see we have rotation depth issues and we wont keep winning like this forever. Some hitters will regress blah blah... Nothing to see here folks...
  2. Teams who would want Colby are unlikely to part with the SP arm we need because they are in it.
  3. I don't see the issue here? I don't think we win last night without Gose's D play and I don't think that throw gets rushed into an E on the "walk off sac bunt". Gose has to stick for speed and D. However, I don't think he is close to the hitter Rasmus is and I don't see Rasmus as close to Gose on D. (no way Colby makes that wall catch last night) Rasmus is streaky as fuk and Ks too much, but he put up an .840 OPS 2013 and played steady average to + D in CF for 120 games. He is very good and still has upside imo. Colby starts when back. He is incented as hell as FA to bring his best to the table. Gose is our 4th OF and will get time against RHP, spot starts and D replacement, pinch running = cheap weapon. Gose cant learn anything more in AAA imo. Then we deal Colby, or resign to a Jays friendly extension or we look at QO option as things emerge. Fellow Jays fans....this is a bounty of riches we should celebrate.
  4. Just caught the end...amazing. When its going good....everything is dropping our way. Hats off to the Jays. Some incredible clutch D today and our arms battled.
  5. Its SCARY but he is battling...props for that. not the first pitcher to have his D bail him out.
  6. Lawrie nice run...please stop swinging like Vlady at anything in the general direction of the plate.
  7. nice pitch to myers. How is he even through 4? Miracle only 2 runs. So much for this years Jesse Chavez I think
  8. Yup, like I said "last year we won 11 in a row and barely pushed .500". I also think this year we are healthier and have a better plate approach overall. Playing better D too even with the roster moves and platoons.
  9. Last year we won 11 in a row and barely pushed .500...then we went on an epicly bad stretch of losses. This year has a different feel and we are healthier. Enjoy it while we can and brace for some rollback. Lets just hope its isolated and not in bunches and we continue to win most series.
  10. Its a balance man. As I said its easy to sing his praises as Dr. Genius drinking the kool-aid when we are winning. But the proof in the pudding is in the eating and the boys are putting a hurting on that ball in a lot of different ways, other than just pulling it. Part of that cred should go to Seitzer.
  11. Its easy to make positive generalization about Seitzer's impact when we are on a roll, but part of the reason we are on this roll imo is a change of approach at the plate. We have Lawrie, Navarro Edwin and Jose etc driving the ball up the middle or beating the shift in key situations. The 2 bombs Lind and Juan hit were textbook swings taking those pitches away getting loft. How long has it been since we have seen this here? Time and time again they are coming through in key situations not trying to do too much. And other times when they get their pitch they are gripping and ripping pulling the hell out of the ball like Edwin's last night. Its very impressive stuff and props to Seitzer and the team for buying in.
  12. I would LOVE this deal, but agree with you its wishful thinking.
  13. Given his all or nothing start he has regressed in value from 2013 IMO. Still his agent has to think, given what Upton and Jones got, he has a shot at 3-5 year deal at 11-15 mm per, depending on how 2013 closes for him. There is no harm in AA seeing if Colby is interested in reducing his risk, but it would have to be a pretty solid Jays friendly extension to be worth our risk. We have other considerations at the same time such as Melky, Casey, Morrow option, Reyes hits 22mm etc etc just my view
  14. Im not sure im into the platoon with these young players. That can marginalize their asset value and development. Ok with trading Colby at deadline with caveat you suggest. He is hard to value right now given his all or nothing start. GMs will wonder if he is 2013 Colby with upside or a regression to 2012 Rasmus.
  15. I agree with your comment but more often than not I'm sure many fans will also consider Gose and "incredibly frustrating player". Last nights 0/4 with 2 Ks wont be an isolated line for this kid. The main advantages he is has is he is CHEAP and you have the possibility of offensive upside. Pair that with +D and speed vs the cost of the Colby package = we need to move Rasmus if possible.
  16. Im onside with him staying up. Said so earlier. He has exceeded the "law of diminishing returns" in AAA. He didn't look great this eve. He can change a game so many ways though. I am a Colby fan but just not missing that big K rate in the line up these days for obvious reasons.
  17. Myers really struggling along this year with .650 OPS...lots of talent. Like Lawrie needs to make some adjustments.
  18. For sure...I like it. its only end of may but must feel good for the boys to be in it.
  19. “I think we’re terrible,” Dickey said, “and I don’t want anybody to take us seriously. I think because of last year, we’re probably going to get walked all over every game.” - March 9th 2014 RA Dickey RA doing a little sandbagging back when.....
  20. I love this confidence from the fans and team these days. After 2013 hard to see what we had in the smouldering ashes left behind. But the O and D on this team is real and can play with anyone...the big question as we all know is going to be can we stay there with this rotation, and if not can we add to it? GO JAYS!! Cobb real deal but keep it rollin and win the Series TODAY!
