  1. Someone would have to from the planet retard to suggest losing Lawrie and Jose don't make it a lot tougher but Jose could be 15 day DL or less. We'll see soon enough. They are going to have to find a way to suck it up and win some games a lot don't expect. All teams have injuries to key players and we will see what we are made of. Just listening to some of the "fans" on Wilner...god makes me ill.
  2. Just joined game and heard news on Lawrie (brutal! he has been so solid) and biting my nails over Jose MRI...and we are down today going up against NYY. I know it wasn't the bunt, but I hate bunts with our # 3 hitter. Not exactly my relaxing Sunday aft news... Lets hope the guys can win this one and those who fill in can do the job ok. Not liking the thought of Juan against any LHP. Tenuous time in the season for us. Things not going our way much right now.
  3. tomato tomoatoe potato potatoe...both amount to shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Neither provides what this team will need for SP as the season wears on....
  4. wing and a prayer...feel for the guy but that's all he is now....AAA fodder and possible future pen arm IMO. Two TJs and a perennial lack of command of his + stuff.
  5. It is shocking to conceive of when you look at Pujols and Hamilton and Prince deals etc. Agree 100%. Reyes and Mark B offset it but it was a calculated risk he took on them that may still pay off.
  6. Ye of little faith. Last night when it was 8-0 my girlfriend made me turn it off and watch a Meryl Streep movie (I would rather put hot bamboo under my fingernails). I PVRed the rest of it. After the flick was over I went through the game with giddy delight in a state of stunned shock savouring it like nectar. Great gut check win men! That's the kind of game that can help define a season.
  7. Reyes is barely acceptable at SS on D and its increasingly frustrating to watch him seemingly unable to make any kind of reasonably tough chance. Nice job to get the DP Hendricks....again...
  8. I think we have the best shot at the AL East with our O and D - when the market is available Id like to add a 1 or 2 starter without getting raped too badly, but Im prepared for the consequences of the price longer term. We need a winner and this year is our shot.
  9. I just put a calm post in the vent/rage to try to even it out...I will have to bring it back here I guess.
  10. Going to be contrarian on this thread as much as I want to rage and vent....and say that I am pleasantly surprised we can play this f***ing bad this long so often and STILL be in 1st in the AL East! Im trying to stay optimistic that the hitting slump ends...every day. I still think we need to double down on a real #1 SP to stick...but I think AA will get that done. It wont be cheap.
  11. SEMPAI is a Hall of Fame troll....and nasty when cornered. I used to like to bait him but grew tired of it...no challenge and a waste of time. He ruins the old Board with his incessant purposely provocative and idiotic trolling slagging on Lawrie, calling for endless sac bunts and praising R Davis as if we won 4 WS in a row when he was in TOR.
  12. Are you serious? 2 earned runs through 5 with that short porch?
  13. We got some guys that need to do same. Miss Lindy in the line up. IF Juan could make contact he could hit it out on a check swing.
  14. Welcome back Colby!! nice ABs men.... Colby can look so smmmmooottthhhhh @ the dish....and then not so much.
  15. That's a very fair assessment imo. Hill still stings with our consistent 2nd base issues, but he was done here, and I didn't expect the AZ resurgence. The RA deal has been beaten around enough. R.I.P on that. I wasn't a fan but I respect the cajones to go all in. I don't think there is a conclusion on that one.
  16. We won the trade with Seattle. I think I've seen every start he has made for us. Great stuff and tantalizing potential. Worth trying as we are paying him anyway, but have no faith the chandelier can get back to 2012 pre oblique DL status. I'd like to see him in the pen if he returns(I know the Ms bounced him in and out). Sustained injuries and/or lack of command has been the norm and not the exception. Would be a godsend if he came back strong but I don't think we have the luxury of hope when I see what NYY sent out against us last night. (f*** you ump again...for good measure).
  17. A terrible thing! This seemingly places his 2nd consecutive AS appearance in jeopardy... (I'm f***ing joking)
  18. That's just brutal. That was some nasty hurling on the mound for Yankees and the ump made them virtually unhittable. The K calls in Gose's AB summed up the night. Terrible zone. Go get em tomorrow Jays.
