  1. Can Delabar go back to back for an inning? Ride the hot hand. good to see Hutch get out it. Troublesome pitch count again but lots of positives.
  2. f***...no doubt. Bosox hitters just taking what they give him back to back to back
  3. What do you want...this is a killer line up Bosox have. They make a living hanging in there down in the count. That's what they do.
  4. I was in from Calgary for that game in TOR when he threw his arm out trying to nail him at 1st. Loved it the one time he made that play but it seems so pointless now.
  5. Edwin missed that 1st pitch FB but he nailed that hanger....crushed. E-Rex and Jose are going to heat up and make some crooked numbers again.
  6. Phew...good job Hutch. Touched 96. Not sure if Ive seen that before. Big inning to get out of. Going to be a long night for the pen again though.
  7. nice catch...holy f*** we need to get Saunders one of those "physically challenged" scooters...I think he would be faster. Slo mo.....reminded me of that Austin Power scene with the steamroller.
  8. Last thing Hutch needs was that with the number of pitches he has been throwing.
  9. I didn't see it in Gomes but that's irrelevant. Jays have professional talent evaluators up the ying yang. There is no excuse to miss it for them. The chain of events after blowing him off really hurts... - Stuck with JPA too long when even the most casual fan could see the issues on O and D. How could we over estimate his ceiling and fail so badly on Gomes? - Lost Aviles and Farrel also with Rogers in return. - Stuck with Navarro 2nd year of his signing after dealing with a replacement level first year from him. - Had to pay $82mm to sign Martin to end the madness which hurt our ability to pick up quality FA arms which we are seeing the effects of. Past is the past but this still pisses me off.
  10. Sent in a hundy. Ya cant be just a taker. I enjoy the forum. I would snap my crayons if I didn't have this place to come to vent and celebrate. Go Jays. thanks.
  11. Happy he went 7 and shocked no runs. Some encouraging signs. Hope he can miraculously develop better command. The number of balls up and/or out of the zone are going to end the magic eventually if it continues. Even with solid D. Martin has been beyond expectations with bat and throwing but yet to see that positive effect much discussed with these arms. Last time I looked he and Pillar both at solid 1.4 WAR.
  12. WE NEED HIM TO STICK....we need somma that filthy 2013 weighted ball Delabar. He looks like his stuff is back so far.
  13. Its not the wrong choice at all if they can get better pitching from what they have and also add some arm depth to make a run with other assets. E-Rex and Jose are bona fide mashers on undermarket deals (one good thing AA led). Trading them for if, come, maybe prospects (remember Wil Myers?) for yet another rebuild on the come makes no sense to me now. We are always chasing f***ing rainbows. Devon Travis and Martin are smoking hot now but when they cool off we are going to need these Dominicans to do some damage. Trading E-Rex or Jose for some more established pitching now might make some sense with our offense, but I don't see the deal yet. IF this season continues to underwhelm it will develop a picture of our chances in 2016 and dictate whether to move them for a haul or not.
  14. f***, I know we need them but I hate off days. Reading bad threads and listening to Blue Jays Talk I missed (OMG) and even checked out the old Forum! Yup, its still a mess. Play ball!
  15. decent? He has been more than that so far. We have to get out of this 6th.
  16. Would any of the + arms FAs come to TOR? If they thought we could win and paid a premium maybe. Our on signing them was hangover $ commitments from MIA deal, big signing on Martin (and still paying Navarro after trading Gomes) and Rogers then turning off the tap.
  17. Im as worried about our pen and rotation as anyone (since before the season started) but with our offense this is way too early. No rush. Our rotation is capable of better and both Edwin and Jose (hurt) are off to relatively slow starts I don't think will last. Edwin still looks like his legs and/or back isn't quite right. Im not seeing a lot of moves for arms that wont cost us a fortune but Im sure AA is looking. Lets see if we can hang in or if their value goes up as the season moves on.
  18. I haven't looked it up yet but heard Brewers broadcast that said his numbers as a reliever 2014 were dramatically better than as a starter.
  19. To be fair we went into this year with Stro thought to be our front end guy with 20 games started in MLB and 3 mid rotation guys (1 of them with many miles and one in his 2nd season off TJ) and a rookie (s) in Sanchez with chronic minor league command issues or Norris. Then Stro went down. I did see an issue with this rotation even with Stro but thought with our offense it might be enough. I have no doubt at least 2 of the 3 mid rotation guys will pitch better than they have (that's not a high bar), but even that may not be enough. Lets hope our Lind deal pays off.
  20. It was marginal WITH Stro. Maybe enough with our offense if we stayed healthy.
  21. Travis continues to amaze. Gotta hand it to the line up. CLE gave em the outs and they made them pay. Good job.
