What you say about Price vs Tex and in the playoffs is true but there is no debate. You live and die with the ace we rented for game 4 over RA with props to him for his 2.1 WAR and the 2nd half he had.
Edwin hasn't been hot either first 2 games. Do we move him too? The order doesn't mean that much. Maybe an AB late in game. If they move him down I'm ok. I'm also ok with Tulo and his decade of track record over a handful of games. Game 1 h hit a couple of balls well into no luck. If he is legit hurting from injury then move him down sure.
Spot on Leaffie. This stings a bit and some of us are licking our wounds. But I'm feeling this team is not done. And even if they are done, it's been a heck of a fun ride and season once I process it. I'll be looking forward to 2016.
In any case Due-lo was 0-6. He saw some pitches to hit and didn't. Charts look like ump sucked for both teams. I know it must be frustrating for the players, but they just have to deal with it and execute. They will bounce back Sunday.
You can't tell well from where I was sitting on zone. Hurl posted some facts based on zone. I don't think those facts can explain away 3 for 27 if the ump is close to equally bad to both teams.
This conversation pisses me off. The ump sucked. No doubt. But neither team was happy with him so we need to move on. Bannister made a point in his post game interview of saying he wants his guys to focus on the game and not a bad call by the ump. There is 0 they can do about it. You could see our guys constantly pissed. Some of their guys bitched a bit but let it go. Our Big 5 went 3 for 27 and that's why we lost.
I'm ok with Tulo where he is. He is Due-lo. I didn't agree with Gibby not pinch hitting for Goins against a tough lefty when we could have put the game away. He has had a decent couple months but he isn't a good hitter.
We played a double header because of torrential rain the day before. There is no way we don't rest regulars that day after clinching. The next day was horrible weather. Hou or Tex are both dangerous. We didn't lose to their ace in the first game. We lost to pussnuts again. We will never know. KC is in tough with Hou. We would have been too. You don't know if we beat HOU or not. You are assuming we would for the purposes of a hindsight argument. Hot good teams cool and cool good teams get hot. You just dont know when.
Yup. I don't see any connection between not making them play in mud and torential rain....the party...and these first 2 playoff games. None. You can quibble about 11 days rest for Price and whether that helps creatures of habit/routine or not. But he might have sucked on normal rest too like he did the start before this one.
JD,Jose,Edwin,Tulo,Martin were combined 3 for 27. Yes we had some long outs and strikes and one solo shot. But that's not just luck. It's lack of execution by our line up and some good pitching by the Rangers who got us to chase a ton.
I saw that. Inconclusive. So it stands. We had many chances to bury that win before this anyway. Became a war of attrition and we didn't get much luck. I'm going to believe we can defy the odds and win 3 in a row until we don't.
The run Cecil has been on has been unworldly so I kinda throw career numbers out. He has been getting LH and RH hitters out mercilessly. Osuna and Sanchez were very good today.
If they had video on Grubers tag he is out. As for today I don't know. Looks out. But I was sure Pillar was safe at home last week and then someone posted the MLB video of it and they got it right. When things were going right for us we seemed to get all those kinds of calls.
I can't question Cecil against a RHH the way he has been pitching. Not a chance. Nice call by Bannister to PH for Moreland knowing he had no chance. Hats off to Napoli. Nice piece of hitting....f***er.
If you want to 2nd guess not pinch hitting Goins late against a nasty LHP and maybe leaving Hawkins in one too many hitters after giving up 2 hard hit balls. But really...this is on the offense and and shaky first inning on D.
Another few feet to the left or deeper and Edwin wins that one for us.
Our big 3 (sans JD dinger) had a bad day at a very inopportune time. I wouldn't want them to change their approach now.
