  1. Is this real life? We are actually headed into our 2nd playoff series after being down 2-0 (after Price and Stro starts) in the 1st one. You cant write this stuff any better. Bring on the Royals! GO Jays!!
  2. Drabek lol. Sorry for your pain....and loss.
  3. My 7 year old has a signed one and he wont even wear it. I actually liked Lawrie....but he ain't no JD.
  4. His K rate is only 13 %. He just had a great series. He makes contact and puts a lot of balls in play on non strikes. They have been throwing him tons of junk all this year already this season to see if he will chase.
  5. Listened to Pete Walker on Baseball Central (ug) today. As far as our high leverage guys out of the pen, aside from Osuna and Sanchez the only guy mentioned was Lowe to backfill for Sanchez. Hendriks was not mentioned. Sanchez would be 4th on that list for me.
  6. Ive been a Bautista fan on this team since before he hit 54 HRs. Im not comparing Puig and Bautista per say. Im saying that it would not be accurate to suggest that there have not been many people raise questions about Jose's character in our losing seasons and many calls to move him etc. I even remember a thread where people complained we had too many Dominicans challenging their collective will to win and affect on chemistry. Horseshit. Point being this is a subjective discussion and frankly....people can change with maturity and circumstance.
  7. Exactly. One teams trash can be another teams treasure on this issue. Reyes rep was mostly bad but in terms of character I saw nothing to suggest negatives on that front. If JD'S cockiness wasn't backed up by numbers he would be getting more scruntiny on this front. It's such a subjective narrative.
  8. Meh. I find the whole "character guy" thing so subjective. Jose has been criticized on that front forever. Not a leader...complains and showboats too much...blah blah blah. Do we think our trash (in Rasmus) is thought of negatively in Houston's run this season? AA was alluding to him in part, and he came over from STL as a problem child. Danny V seems to be fine...then Wilner says because nobody tweeted goodbye to him like they did for Reyes that there are clubhouse issues with him. A's seem to like him. I don't really know the deal with Puig...his rep sucks. But the talent is immense.
  9. That's where Martin needs to shine.
  10. How was he supposed to accomplish anything with a 20 game trial? Wasn't like Pillar delivered much until he got a real chance to play either. I said " he would deal Pillar in a heartbeat for the right return". That's a huge caveat. Our team would have to be made net better given we lose what I think will be a fairly consistent 2.5 to 3.5 WAR player still cheap. It may be Pompey who gets moved. We'll see.
  11. I started this thread and I think Pillar has exceeded all expectations. But AA traded Lawrie, Reyes and almost every arm in the org. With Pompey in the wings he would deal Pillar in a heartbeat for the right return.
  12. My motivation with Goins is not "I told you so". It's realistic expectations. His improvements have already happened. He went from AAA player to should be able to stick at back up middle IF. If he has a massive series like the one he had against the BoSox earlier in the year, we will all be thrilled.
  13. Revere is a funny unique guy. Really humble and seems like a genuine nice fellow. The interview Admin posted of him talking to MLB for 3.5 mins after the game is actually hilarious.
  14. Totally. You know things are going well when this board even loves Navarro. Sort of.
  15. Hmmm. Sounds like a case for Jesse Ventura and "Conspiracy Theory" episode. Was this a pre-set play by the Rangers rehearsed by Choo and Odor to score a runner from 3B, pulled off to perfection? I don't think so.
  16. As much as I'd like to believe this theory I can't/dont. I'm so thankful it doesn't matter now
  17. Hazel Mae was worse than BD after they clinched Division. But nobody said "whatever Hazel" lol
  18. Did you notice "leaffie" on there posting on their board? http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/Texas_Rangers/_/Hey_Holland_thanks_for_the_inspiration/ml-rangers/27994.15?nav=messages&mobile=y
  19. Typical Schilling. Idiot tweets with inferences about the Muslim hordes threat, and then this calling out Jose. He was a very good pitcher who should shut his pie hole.
  20. Just use Sanchez correctly as Cyborg ^ said. Overall in a small sample size he has been ok. But we don't need to use him in those situations. Whether he touches 100 or not his secondary pitch command, especially against LHH, is a recipe for big innings against us. I'm not a hater....just a "wise user" of the guy lol.
  21. Serious question someone on here can answer who has their head buried in the stats : I was thinking while I was watching Jose's bomb for the 325th time....Who else in the AL can hit a FB better than Jose? Anyone see exit V on his and Edwins HRs?
  22. If it was our business we would know. The guy is aching to be out on the field I'm certain, so whatever it is....its important. Anyone with a family can understand.
  23. So true. When I re-watched the gm less amped up the play by Pillar...the two Goins made up the middle and the barehanded play by JD(so much tougher than he makes it look to do) changed the game. It been our recipe since Tulo came over. Tulo didn't have his best game on either D or O but I love him out there and look forward to him having a big ALCS.
