That same decision ensured the loss in extra inning gm 2 to Texas. Hawkins ahead of him in the depth chart. Left him in for 3 straight hits and only then went to HEndriks. Bizarre.

When you have a day off Sunday I don't agree with white flagging in a game this close. You cant hand a gm to KC 3 runs down Davis or not. At times we got to Betances and Miller this year. It can happen.

So what do you suppose is Gibby's mindset bringing in Hawkins only 3 runs down here? Save everyone else for tomorrow? They have an off day Sunday.

I'm not crazy about it but at least Gibby is consistent. And if Navvy is the incremental difference that allows Estrada to pitch like he did last game I guess we can live with the loss in D and offense.
