  1. I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just trying to understand Rogers and mgm strategy
  2. Hey. I don't disagree. The reality is Rogers has the financial means, even with our dollar, to up the payroll now considerably from its already fairly large level. They aren't going to so im hoping if we are in it they don't stand pat. 2015 was an enigma to me at the deadline as was passing the hat for a 1 year deal on santana a couple yrs ago.
  3. I think it's because things can change. If we have a rash of bad injuries we might be out of it and then no need to invest more later and we are in sell mode. It's a risk mgm strategy.
  4. He is good but that's a lot for a reliever ...sign of the market I guess. I remember choking on their Jiminez signing a couple years ago. Now it seems like peanuts when I saw the Shark deal.
  5. As I see the numbers I like our signings and deal even more. They are responsible and will give us some flexibility to make a move to bolster the team for a run if we are in it.
  6. Edwin for Carrasco? Click. That's the sound of the hang up.
  7. lol....as long as you don't look like the dude in your avatar in them you are doing ok BTS
  8. Amazing. Seems like he has been around forever...and he had TJ mixed in there. Nobody would be happier if he can find that consistency. I heard Shi Dividi yesterday saying some think Sanchez could be that front end starter to replace Price. He said there was some debate about this. That's a f***ing understatement!
  9. Aren't 7's and True Religion 250 to 350 ? My ex used to buy them for me all the time. Really pissed me off and they wear out really fast. I don't mind buying BOSS suits etc as they look good and last forever....but jeans at that cost makes no sense to me.
  10. I go to Sears and buy Levis. They are cheap and its so dead in there you could fire a cannon through it and not hit anyone. Just the way I like it. In and out fast. I just don't see the value in $300 jeans. How can you tell I'm 50? lol. Still a 32 though.
  11. The world has indeed been turned on its head since the end of the season in many ways!
  12. Yes, but if you are going to move to that country California is the place to go for sure.
  13. Very true. Case in point the story this am about "AA would have offered Price a contract" = Baseless drivel. As many times as some posters like to call other posters "dumb" or worse on this board, the reality is that the vast majority of the posters here know more about the game overall than the avg casual fan when it comes to matters like assessing value, stats or more minor matters like how little things like Gold Gloves really mean. (I cant believe how many friends have mentioned how mad they are Pillar didn't get one. They don't know even who KK is). That not to sound elitist. Fans don't have to be this obsessed to enjoy the game, and I don't have to talk ball with them. That's why I read and post on here more than I talk to other humans about ball. I'm already addicted enough to the game so I purposely avoid fantasy leagues and getting too deep into prospects etc but you can pick up all you want from reading this Board on that front.
  14. Its true. There are many posters here more knowledgeable than me in different areas, but its shocking sometimes where less obsessed casual fans come from on topics like Kevin Pillar, AA or signing Price, for example. There is 0 point in engagement most times. No upside. They are a dog driving a car on baseball.
  15. we say this every year....hope springs eternal
  16. Seems like the prognosis on his health is better than I expected for this to happen. It would great if he could add some value next year from the left side.
  17. absolutely. best hitter Ive ever seen. PEDs or not 4 seasons over 200 wRC+. Just ungodly. He was great before the roids.
  18. That's fair. This season, like many, probably comes down to health and depth. If the rotations are even sans Price it will be interesting to see what Stro puts up for added wins over full season(assuming he has one).
  19. Forget about BoSox 2015. 2016 they look very strong to me at this point with their mixture of young and older talent bolstered by Price/Kimbrel. Things change so fast. BoSox cratered under Valentine...made a number of moves and the next year won the WS. One season isn't indicative of the next, especially with their spending power.
  20. Lots can happen in this game. Far too early to declare us dead. BoSox off season in 2014 was seen as strong and they flamed out. Last Spring training we lost our LF and Stro to freak injuries nobody saw coming. Things happen that change probabilities. Would I love to have another front end SP? Of course, but I'm glad we didn't do the Price or Zimm deals. This team may not be done in the FA and trade market.
  21. It makes me chuckle so many new fans thought we should and would sign him. The whole "he really loves TOR" leverage play by his agent a couple weeks ago was so transparent. Good for Price. Its a business. I like him and a player and personality and wont be booing him. I also hope we mash the f*** out of him for 7 years when we face him.
  22. just joking. Poor guy is in trouble again. http://www.tmz.com/2015/11/30/otis-nixon-weed-rental-car/
  23. Probably thinks Otis Nixon is hot.
  24. You have low standards.
  25. Was it Pillar who said it...tweeting to Wilner again?
