    So easy to sit back and say crap like this. Baseball is a business and Jose has a family. I have no issue with him negotiating hard for the best deal he can get to provide for himself and his family. We would ALL do the same if we were in his shoes...which we aren't. Lots of ball players get hurt or ground up by the system before they ever make any big money and many just aren't of the elite talent level that Jose worked hard to become. As for being a team mate, based on the subjective evidence I see he is well liked by his team mates and a huge part of their machine.

    His salary is more than 3 times Smoaks and they are both 0 WAR. There is a a 13mm team option on Bruce next year. Smoak has been slumping so we are all pissed at him. I'd be happy with another 107 wRC+ season from him.

    Whats the reason for the love affair some have with Jay Bruce? 120 wRC+ and 0.0 WAR in his best season since 2012 so far.

    Yes, and a lot of these kids are heading off to see Jays games this year with their fams, and the 8-10 year olds on my kids team talk about the Jays scores and emulate the hitters all the time. We have the Honda Super Camp next week. Alomar, Devo et all will be here. I'm probably more excited than my son.     Stating the obvious that the fans will come out if the team is winning. That's the same in most markets. Most of us would support not signing those two and taking the picks. Bautista and Edwin aren't the only 2 options available to keep them very competitive for business reasons.

    Seeing the RC packed almost every night is taking me back to last year and the early 90s. Shapiro has some tough decisions ahead and his MO isn't to sign a bunch of aging expensive FAs. But you have to think as a business they don't want to lose the momentum built in 2015 and so far this season. Coast to coast the Jays are killin it. Our little league enrollment in Calgary was up 30% this year and a lot of it is because of the Jays.

    Just caught the gm on PVR. Wow. Looked like a L for sure with the hitting with RISP tonight and yet again the resurrection of Tulo comes up big. Hutch did his job and held us in it, but both those HRs were meatballs right down the middle. Cecil giving up hard contact again. Argh. nice Win Jays! Get em tomorrow.

    Listening to the Jays warm up. Frustrating to me this poor Hutch stuff suffering in Buff. I get it, but he has been given chances and he just hasn't yet put it all together. Love Price's line "don't like it?, pitch better". That's all Hutch has to focus on and succeed at and he will have an MLB rotation spot.

    When he can play on the toe, pain will be a factor for awhile. I think you will see him at DH willingly for some time. Edwin has been playing serviceable 1B which helps. Smoak won't get many ABs in foreseeable future.

    Really hoping Jose comes back to have a monster 2nd half. We need him. I already consider him gone as a FA...at least it would help us win this Div. His 1st half has been very mediocre for a guy who has averaged 5 WAR since he became a Jay in 2009.
