    RIP Bill Buckner. He sure took a bad rap in Boston, and baseball in general. The Kleenex or Coca Cola of errors in that World Series. I used to take heat playing ball as a young guy cause my glove had his signature inked in it as endorsement. Had to chuckle briefly listening to Jeff Blair today railing about what a great ball player he was based on "analytics". Lifetime 97 wRC+ and career of 19 WAR. Not awful for sure, but c'mon.

    I get that that he > than Pillar in the coming years, and I get the $/WAR argument for that deal. But the 30% K rate and so many complete write off ABs just irk me. Is he really a guy we needed to build around for 5 years? I guess. This is completely anecdotal on my part but he just looks like he doesn't really give a s*** after a bad PA. I'm sure he does...but man. Last season I felt like he was found money and thats not the case anymore.

    I can't f***ing stand Montoyo already and I liked Grichuk a hell of a lot more when we didn't have him for 5/50.

    If we are doing a rebuild we should build around less ugly players than Derek Law for it. Nice play Vlad.

    Montoyo makes me f***ing crazy. kid has got his swing rolling....needs reps on D and he is 20. I could drink all night...bang 20 women and work the whole next day when I was 20. Well...maybe I'm exaggerating. Like 4 women...or 8.

    Got home from my kids baseball game and had this one on PVR....man I enjoyed watching that all last night. Been watching every AB he has had. I knew it was going to come but seeing how hard he hit those balls the effortless bat speed was a treat I won't forget. Kind of reminded me of watching Delgado hit the windows.

    Read Sanchez comments after seeing your post. Give me a f***ing break. Between the BBs and the hard contact he gives up he really should be a lot quieter post game.

    I love this thread King. Thanks for starting. I've been watching pretty much every game and Im struggling with this guy. Im gonna f***ing barf if I have to hear anymore "small ball" fapping. Im ok with sitting Vlad Jr every now and then even if he is 20, but why when he could have faced LHP? The pinch running for Hanson, who isn't even faster, is a face palm.

    Just had my 10 year old do a Calgary baseball camp last weekend with Danny Jansen. Nice guy. Was only 5 kids there. Said Martin has been fine but Maile has been more of a mentor when it comes to teaching him. Was pretty candid about it all. I like Martin, and he gave some solid seasons when we needed it. I'll never for that 3 run coup de grace bomb down the stretch against the Yankees in 2015, but nice to see Martin and Tulo moved along.

    He stabilized the IF in 2015 when we were all being driven mental by Reyes. He did get some big hits for us. He wasn't the player we thought we might have gotten and he wasn't the player we paid for in salary and prospects (the Reyes contract sucked too). 3 WAR in 16 and 2 ish in 2015. I cant be too critical of this AA move but choking on the rest of this contract.

    Just read he is retiring. I think he and Mike Schmidt the greatest two 3B Ive watched. He is/was an incredible player. First ballot HOF. Aside from being a great player I'll always remember him bear hugging one of our Jays during a heated playoff scrum with the Rangers (can't remember who, but he wasn't able to move lol. Jose on the Odor punch?) 84 career WAR. (just saw this mentioned in AB thread too. Kinda thought he deserved his own)

    Barker and Tabby are f***ing annoying. Barker babbling on and Tabby endless empty platitudes and comments "that kid looks like a ballplayer" and "he can hurt you if he gets ahold of one" when a hitter like Ben Revere is up. I can live with Drunk Buck mostly cause its funny when he cranks up the "swing and a drive"...and the ball settles down in a glove in front of the warning track.

    Continuing to trust in Atkins and Shapiro. At the end of the day I'm far more interested in their farm development and who they put on the field than choice of Mgr.

    Seem to remember a certain bearded fan reaching into the playing area in KC in 2015 ALCS on a ball hit by Moose - called a home run anyway. So if its closer to a catch on the ball its an out? According to West's eyes and MLB.
