    Another quality outing from Dirty Sanchez. I couldn’t have less faith in a starter. Well maybe Jackson. When Hicks came up did anyone think he wasn’t going to give it up?

    Sogard has been shockingly surprisingly impressive. Just under 2 WAR 137 wRC+. Hot, cold and hot again. 250 PAs. More than I ever expected from him. He has done a nice job helping out a really bad team.

    Man, I would love to see a team back in MTL. Expos bring back so many great memories. It just seems so far fetched at this point given cost of new stadium demands. I think it would be a much better market than TB...what is wrong with those fans, other than the stadium is horrendous?

    We just don't know. I don't assume we can get him for that, or that he even wants to stay. If he prices himself out of what the FO thinks is reasonable, then that is an obvious factor in evaluating what we might get for him and if we will move him. Point being the two areas are linked - signing cost/probability vs what comes back if dealt. I'm open to either depending on value created.

    At the end of the day if he is more valuable with a 4 + 1/60mm ish extension than the pieces they are offered, you keep him. They are going to test the market. If the "pieces" we are being offered are Happ deal like, then he is more valuable to us signed giving us 200 ish decent innings/year as we reshape the team.

    Can we just drive a stake in the heart of the Sanchez experiment? Let him gas can his way to the end of his deal while we sign Stroman. BTW I donÂ’t give a f*** what his agent says, if we actually had ANY other decent rotation options IÂ’d stick Sanchez back in the pen unhappy or not. ItÂ’s been miserable watching him start, even when it doesnÂ’t end prematurely from blisters. He has thrown his value as a starter into the toilet. IÂ’m sure the FO is hoping for a dead cat bounce so they can move him for pieces but it seems so unlikely at this point.

    Seeing some posts Tellez is given no chance to stick. I'm not there yet. Now is the time we can give him the PAs to see if he can be a viable 1B/DH option. Nothing to lose. Ain't been pretty so far.

    No actually, I'm not content. I loved Edwin on the Jays and watched him develop from the E-5 DFA days when we got him from CINN. But your posts ignore we made him an above market offer he rejected. They also ignore undeniable statistical evidence in a number of key areas that he has been in decline. Smoak is basically a "30 HR 100 RBI" 1B/DH guy and we still suck. One more DH doing same wouldn't add much at all to our win total. Not to mention if we did sign him, he would probably have been traded already for obvious reasons.

    They did, but I think almost every team misjudged that market that year for bat only sluggers. They all got stranded.

    Whatever. Edwin has been worth a grand total of 5 WAR since he left, and Jays made him a solid offer he turned down. I wanted him to stay but it was his choice. He is off to a great start in 19, but he will probably cool off at some point. His wRC+ is the highest its been since 2015. He has been in steady decline.

    That feeling Leafs fans must have sucks. Its like losing to KC in 2015. You know you are in trouble when Escobar is tearing it up at lead off and JD hits a ball 112 MPH or so right to Moose. In 2011, even after we won the Cup for first time since '72 Orr's goal we had been in the finals a few times and couldn't close. After 2011, we got beat in Finals by CHI and then another season we had that brutal comeback by PHI when we were up in Series 3-0. Stanley Cup is f***ing hard to win. We went to Gm 7 vs Habs 2011 and eeked that series out thanks to Nathan Horton. Razors edge man. I hate basketball but officially on Raptor's bandwagon.

    Chewing my nails off watching this Final. Back in BOS for Gm 7. Have to give my B's the edge but in one game its all about who gets a couple bounces and which goalie stands on their head. Goal #2 last night on the knuckler was the first break the Bruins got in last couple games.

    Not a big fan of the guy, but we need someone to start who isn't a total gas can during the rebuild. With what they paid Estrada and Happ, I can them going 4/60 ish with an option year being a pretty fair deal.
