  1. I'm not a Bo Hater. I'm just a not gonna give him $200M guy, or even close. And I'd deal him for the the right opportunity. Other than that he is a hard working solid likeable player with nice hair.
  2. Bo can pull that 88 MPH heat! New ballgame. Get it going Bo.
  3. If they rolled over and died down 5 I'd be extremely disappointed. We should expect no less of them but to battle. The at bats by Whitt, Teo and Bo with a runner on 2 in extras were really bad. We can expect better even against Fulmer. I know Chapmans defensive metrics are down but just don't expect him to bounce that throw. Ya. Tough loss. Baseball. Berrios flat out sucked. Let's hope for a bounce back today. On a positive Vlad had some great at bats last night. Looked like 21 Vlad.
  4. Me too. At least Teo has been good lately. Did anyone think he wouldn't chase a slider off the plate with two strikes? It's in those moments I just wish we had a shot at a big LH bat at the plate.
  5. He is a platinum glove with a vaunted arm. That's a piece of cake for a fast play for him. He just short hops Jansen with runner barreling down on him. Tough play for Jansen. A decent throw in the air and DOA at plate easy.
  6. 103 swing and miss K vs Kirk. Twins pen envy.
  7. For our sakes hope you are right. Even when he hasnt allowed a boatload of runs in a start this year and had good K numbers, save maybe a start or two, he still gets rocked hard and looks very hittable. Leftys own him. To me anyway.
  8. How much faith anyone have in Berrios starting a wildcard game against a good team stacked with lefty bats?
  9. Another RH SP feeding us. Berrios giving up some hard contact - trouble finishing with 2 strikes. Especially LHH. wOBA of .358 against him.
  10. NICE twist! We needed that.
  11. 100 wRC+ and 1.7 WAR. Ya, considering last year. Lets hope!!
  12. I'm ok with his speed trying to stretch that. It took an absolutely perfect play to get him there.
  13. Nice job touching up the pen tonight, after Gray's high wire act. Got a few breaks along the way too.
  14. Nice hit Biggio. Another RHP with command carving us up mostly staying away. We badly needed a more impactful LHH, especially with number of games Springer has/is missing.
  15. 100%. Only certain guys green light and not always. If they get it they have to zone it up or take it.
  16. Tabby says Manoah is a "big guy" and has that going for him. Big guy correlation to not getting health issues? Like Pearson?
  17. C - Deadline told me FO are ok with burning another core yr and making some tweaks because our competition was better, and paid a high price to get even better. - The Farm is not valued as high by others as some of us value it. Its easy to rationalize selling the farm - Groshans, Martin, SWR, Gunner etc in hindsight, but there was a time they were thought to be future roster contributors by the same FO. Hoping unsold Morero, Martinez and Tiedemann develop higher value, as well as some more unheralded names. - Our pen is better. Still lacks swing and miss/V, but it is better. No impact SP or LHH. Castillo deal is kind of a wash. - Merrifield is depth for Springer who could miss a lot of time. We just don't know yet. Wish he was LH and not on the decline but he is a competent upgrade over Zim.
  18. RIP. His classic silent call on the Kirk Gibson home run is a forever baseball moment.
  19. Moreno is going to be interesting. A lot to like, but that noodle bat. Hope some power develops.
  20. Me neither. Was flying today. Just looked at the box score. Looks like an awesome start from Gausman. 10K 1 BB 1 hit. 8 IP Love it!
  21. Hosmer deserves s*****. For the 2015 ALCS and that egregious contract he got. He has already screwed SDP - or more aptly they screwed themselves in making that deal.
  22. Yep. Some of our near misses before 92/93 also contributed to that handle. Big part of Gillick's philosophy in a couple interviews I saw was that he valued an impact bat, who could contribute to a W 7 days a week, much higher than a starter who could help you win every 5th day. He saw that as a no brainer.
  23. I totally get the point. Fair. But whats now isn't necessarily going to continue at this pace. We know Teo and LGJ are capable of going into prolonged slumps, and an impact LHH could be used to improve match ups against certain pitching. Also, Springer's status is really unknown and the loss of his bat consistently in the line up would sting.
  24. I don't know. Will be an interesting day. Last year we miss the playoffs by a game. '22 we won't catch the Yanks for the Div but have a strong shot at home wildcard, which could work with the right additions. Yanks were good and got incrementally better. TB got better. Astros got Vasquez in a big move. SEA got much better for a 2/3 wildcard with Castillo. A lot of whats being suggested by guys is depth and marginal improvement. 37 yr old Robertson and spent Thor. I guess.
  25. Obviously. I said a bucket of balls.
