  1. lol. never go full troll
  2. He reminds me a lot of Andrew Miller out of the pen, except he is shorter, Japanese and not as good.
  3. I don't think so. Cheat for heat. Hunt for heat. Adjust to breaking ball especially with 2 strikes. Too much V these days to sit breaking ball very often. Bo often fouls off the FBs late, and ends up with 2 strikes...then he cases a splitter or a slider off the plate. Just what i see anyway.
  4. Berrios with another 94 center cut. Got lucky.
  5. He might want to rethink that approach and his pitch selection if he wants to get paid. Nice IP Berrios.
  6. ITs been awesome lol
  7. I dont know if Bo sits breaking ball but he is sure late on a lot of fastballs this season.
  8. Beast? Cant wait to go.
  9. LOL. Well at least he bounced back a little. A BB and HBP to 8 and 9 and i was worried "here we go". PTSD. Still leaving that FB in some juicy spots too often but we will take this so far.
  10. The Jays giving Berrios $130M thinking he could pitch in the AL East. FFS.
  11. Love Springer with 2 strikes just punching a ball into play getting lucky after hitting a laser just foul, and then Vlad turns around 96 to RCF. Man thats nice approaches.
  12. Whos' your vladdy??!!!!
  13. Every game now has the playoff feel. Tonight starts a big time series. Pretty exciting. Takes me back to that big Martin 3 run jack in 2015. I like the mound match up. Both have had their issue and both have been great. Lets hope the real Berrios and the bats show up.
  14. Bo vs LHP in '21 wRC+ = 156 Bo vs LHP in '22 wRC+ = 68 Jays have faced the lowest PAs vs LHP for a team since like the 20's because nobody wants to throw many against such a RHH line up. We saw some of this in '15 as well. I think their poor numbers vs LHP this yr reflect the lack of PAs. We'll see what happens vs the best RHP the rest of '22 and in the playoffs. Whatever happens I hope we can address lineup construction with some LH impact/balance in '23. FO whiffed on Brantley and Ramirez. Got to add some real LH bat(s). Could make a top offense that much better and make it a lot tougher for a RHP to get into a rhythm away on us. Mind you, with this same line up if Vlad, Bo, Berrios are having '21 seasons we are probably sitting well atop the 1st wildcard now.
  15. lol. My thoughts exactly. Whats worse thing that can happen? Start him in low leverage and see if he is '21 Brad Hand - worse or better.
  16. I agree. I don't judge him by that measure either. GM speak has little to do with the catch all meme "PC", in my view. Some are better at communicating with the public/fans that others and it does help. Lots of other metrics to judge Atkins by, but thats a whole other discussion.
  17. Release? Have no fear. Kooch will turn into our Japanese Josh Hader.
  18. I know what GM speak is lol. I've listened to a lot of them. Mostly they the equivalent of hockey interviews "Get more pucks on the net - take it one shift at a time - keep the puck down low - try to keep it simple and help the team) Mostly I skip them for reasons a chimp would know and you allude to. I find his a particular phony variety of GM speak. There is lots of GM speak he could source that doesn't bury Berrios, but doesn't sound like 100% complete f***ing ********. Thats just my view. Berrios? Ya, sure. I hope he rebounds of course. Mostly about FB command. I think Eno Sarris has Strip's change ranked #1 in the AL now
  19. Exactly why i just cant listen to his phony pablum. Has he said the same about Kooch and his 3/36? Are we going to take some risk and buy a bit high on Strip extending him? Whats it going to take? 3/30 ?? At this point at least he is definitely more reliable than Berrios. Wouldnt it be nice if a miracle happened and Kooch became another in a long line of failed starters who wakes up in the pen and becomes a wipe out pen lefty. Hope springs eternal.
  20. My DNA makes it tough to cheer for the Yanks but a comeback W vs the Rays is good for the Jays. Vintage JD oppo shot.
  21. Ya, hell of an at bat. So good to see.
  22. Just caught up to live on PVR. Strip is really dealing. Nice to see him come back looking so solid. Sigh of relief.
  23. Curious if you still think that in looking at the under lying numbers? Manoah has been having increasingly bad months consecutively. He isn't getting destroyed, but LHH are doing more damage. Gausman has been what appears to be really unlucky on BAPIP. Suggests he has been better than his numbers? Berrios to me at this point is less reliable than Strip (if Strip can come back from IL pitching like he was B4) for a Gm 3. Berrios has been like 1/3 pretty good. 1/3 lucky. 1/3 tire fire.
  24. Smarter? Its just probabilities. If you want to have rose colored glasses on last season and this one, be my guest. Been a hard core fan of this team since the 80's. Always will be. Doesn't mean I'm going to be unrealistic. I didn't set the expectations for this team or say last year was the trailer and this year would be the movie. In that list what isnt accurate so far? Can it change over last part of season? Yes. Likely? Not really.
