  1. Cool probably!
  2. Could not agree more. Davis makes me cringe every time I hear him, but Barker is unwatchable. On a side note, I really like Brady and Walker.
  3. I knew Mattingly's glasses looked familiar...
  4. Love the show, especially with the new studio, but Sid is an absolute dink.
  5. They mention that in "The Book" and say it is better to have a better hitter interacting with the top of the order, but the difference is negligible (~2 runs/season).
  6. 7.5 MIL for a platoon player that has zero positional flexibility and a huge injury risk doesn't have much value. I don't see a scenario where the jays regret that one.
  7. That Walter Johnson arm slot looks nasty.
  8. I don't think the argument is that Drabek is better than Castro/Osuna, its that: a) the difference between them is probably negligible (maybe half a win over 60 innings) said difference does not warrant burning up a year of control for either of these pitchers, particularly when neither have ever pitched above A ball
  9. Red Bull gives you wiiiiings!
  10. Holy f*** boys, Wolf, Santana, Francis, and let's not forget the Halladay signing. We might have a real shot at the 2006 World Series! Seriously though, minor league deal. How can anyone be legitimately upset? Like someone said there's literally no downside.
  11. http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasybaseball/update/25109645/mets-zack-wheeler-has-torn-ucl-return-to-ny-to-discuss-options
  12. Zack Wheeler suffers torn UCL Big blow for the Mets.
  13. Jesus Christ this team
  14. That's a good point. A replacement level 3B in Oakland should still be able to make a lot of the deep foul plays that aren't presented in other stadiums, so a certain amount of those plays shouldn't add defensive runs to the player's value. Anyone know how that's factored in?
  15. It's interesting to see how people are reacting to this. Obviously no team has another 3 or 4 win starter that can just jump in to replace that kind of production, but honestly for the Jays this is far from the worst injury that could happen. We will probably lose 1-3 wins, but like it was pointed out by a few people, the replacement for Stroman (Norris or Estrada) should still put up 1 or possibly 2 wins. Imagine if it was Donaldson. That could be up to a 7 win swing, when you consider that his replacement would be someone like Goins, Kawasaki, or Tolleson (with the replacement playing either 3B or 2B) putting up replacement level numbers. Obviously it sucks huge donkey dick (or goat depending on your preference,) but if we had to pick one position to suffer an injury, a SP could be the easiest loss to absorb.
  16. That's a really interesting article, particularly with how well it predicts future performance even over a short period of time.
  17. Why do I like the look of this?
  18. Im hoping this is the end of the chain. Not an effective strategy to keep trading your "major league ready" prospects for prospects who are a year or two away. I'm not saying that the moves were bad, but the only major league value we've seen so far was from Gose.
  19. So if other teams have no depth either, the Jays still have "garbage" depth? That makes as much sense as not vaccinating your kids.
  20. How about Austin Hedges adding almost 4 wins just on his framing?
  21. Nothing wrong with this at all. Can't have too much infield depth, and I'd much rather have 200 PA go to Kawasaki than Goins. Muni is not a star by any means, but a 1 win/600 guy is definitely worth something in the infield, especially on a minor league deal.
  22. Papelbon is a dink.
  23. The ol' Josh Johnson treatment
  24. Any chance the White Sox don't know what they have in Quintana? I know Alex has done some trading with them before. I'd offer them one of Sanchez/Norris plus any other prospect. Maybe they'd want Navarro too if we paid his salary? Don't really think it gets it done but stranger things have happened over in Chi-Town.
